In the preview of Episode 10, the ultimate scumbag makes an appearance. Because there are people like him who embody the term "scumbag," ordinary men really can't live up to that label.
Regarding the events of Ye Wenjie and Bai Mu Lin, it largely follows the original work with some changes. Combined with the previous chat records with Shen Yu Fei, it's brilliantly filmed. It carries on from the past and sets the stage for what's to come.
When reading the novel, I was already furious about Ye Wenjie's experiences. Without such a harsh fate, enduring persecution all along, Ye Wenjie wouldn't have ended up at the Red Coast Base, nor would he have disregarded the warnings of the Trisolaran Observer and pressed the button.
In this episode, there's only one theme: salvation and destruction. People can see the destruction, but most can't see the salvation. Salvation and destruction, survival or death, they are two sides of the same coin, cause and effect intertwined.
