Episode 18 recap: Min Hui and Xin Qi have separated.
Xin Qi has already explained the situation and hopes that Min Hui will not continue to treat him with that attitude. Min Hui admits that through this incident, he has come to understand that Su Tian has always been a thorn in their hearts, like a time bomb that could explode at any moment. Xin Qi cannot guarantee that this will be the last time he confronts her about Su Tian, and Min Hui doesn't want to keep reopening such wounds.
Min Hui acknowledges that he was touched when Xin Qi said those words to him before, but from now on, they will only have a relationship as parents. Zhou Ru Ji is happy to hear that Min Hui has said it's completely over between him and Xin Qi, as she sees an opportunity for herself. Quan Quan tells Min Hui that Zhou Ru Ji is his sister now, and Min Hui asks if Zhou Ru Ji has a girlfriend. Zhou Ru Ji says there's no such thing.
Zhou Ru Ji asks Min Hui what kind of person he wants to find, and Min Hui lists various criteria. Zhou Ru Ji feels like she fits the description, but Min Hui says it's not possible between them. Zhou Ru Ji smiles but looks disappointed when she turns away.
Xin Qi has sent many messages to Min Hui, but Min Hui hasn't replied. Xin Qi goes to the company to find Min Hui and asks why he hasn't responded. Min Hui says they have nothing else to talk about except work-related matters.
Ha Di advises Xin Qi to persist and not give up. Xin Qi thinks he makes sense and asks Ha Di to buy as many books about love as possible. When Min Hui returns home, he finds Xin Qi there and that dinner is ready. Xin Qi suggests taking Quan Quan to see a movie together, and Quan Quan wants to go. Min Hui agrees and says Xin Qi can take Quan Quan, and he can go out on a date.
Xin Qi says Min Hui already agreed to go, but Min Hui clarifies that he only agreed to let Xin Qi take Quan Quan to the movies, not that he would go as well. Min Hui hopes that Xin Qi has understood all the things he said before, but Xin Qi says he understands but doesn't agree, that's why he wanted to tell Min Hui that he is the woman he has chosen.
Xin Qi takes Quan Quan out to have fun and feels frustrated thinking about Min Hui going out on a date. Quan Quan uses Xin Qi's phone to call Zhou Ru Ji and learns that she is on duty at the hospital.
Cao Mu and Min Hui are drinking together and feel that Chen Jia Jun approaching him must have ulterior motives. Min Hui thinks it's unlikely, but Cao Mu says that he had plenty of opportunities to explain himself but never did. Chen Jia Jun comes to find Cao Mu, but Cao Mu ignores him and says he has already packed his things, hoping to never see Chen Jia Jun again when he returns.
Chen Jia Jun goes to find Xin Qi, thinking that if he hadn't misunderstood, Xin Qi and Min Hui wouldn't have ended up like this. Xin Qi says it has nothing to do with him and that even without this incident, there would have been other conflicts between him and Min Hui. Chen Jia Jun and Xin Qi form an alliance to help each other win over their respective love interests.
Chen Jia Jun advises Xin Qi to send flowers to Min Hui. Xin Qi fills the room with flowers for Min Hui, but Min Hui ends up giving them to other colleagues. Zhou Ru Ji talks to Yao Zi Zhu about understanding the situation with the second male lead. She used to think that Min Hui rejected others because of Quan Quan, but since Xin Qi appeared, she realized that she never had a chance.
Yao Zi Zhu encourages her to confess her feelings and not give up without expressing them to the person she likes. Zhong Mei Mei wants to transfer to Min Hui's department, and Xin Qi comes over to join their meeting. The CEO, He, doesn't dare to neglect Xin Qi. Min Hui brings up Zhong Mei Mei's situation, and the CEO immediately agrees to it.
