Episode 7 recap: Xin Qi stood up for Min Hui.
Min Hui felt that despite Xin Qi's efforts in arranging things for Quan Quan, it didn't make much of a difference. She also worried that if Xin Qi were to leave in the future, it would make Quan Quan even more uncomfortable. Xin Qi reassured her, saying that it was impossible for him to leave Quan Quan. Min Hui asked if Xin Qi intended to stay there indefinitely, to which Xin Qi replied that he didn't have such plans. He mentioned that if Min Hui was willing to let Quan Quan come to his own home, he could take him there immediately. However, Min Hui expressed that it was not possible. Quan Quan, who had been listening, said that he knew Xin Qi cared about him but hoped that they wouldn't argue and that the three of them could be together in harmony.
Yao Zi Zhu met Zhou Ru Ji and insisted on having a meal together. Yao Zi Zhu fantasized that if she got cream on her mouth, Zhou Ru Ji would come and help her wipe it clean. However, Zhou Ru Ji only handed her a piece of paper, indicating that she had cream on her face. Yao Zi Zhu was speechless, realizing that it was completely different from what happens in TV dramas.
Upon returning home, Min Hui saw Xin Qi playing with toys with Quan Quan and commented that the executive of a mobile phone company like them should be quite busy, questioning how Xin Qi could have so much free time. Xin Qi explained that one of the greatest advantages of being a CEO was the ability to arrange one's own schedule freely, which Min Hui wouldn't understand. Quan Quan asked Min Hui not to always chase Xin Qi away, as it made him feel pitiful. Min Hui felt helpless in response.
To facilitate taking care of Chen Jia Jun, Cao Mu allowed Chen Jia Jun to stay at her house. Cao Mu noticed that the electric clothes rack was broken and tried to reach it but couldn't. Chen Jia Jun carried Cao Mu up to reach it. Cao Mu asked about Chen Jia Jun's leg and he replied that it was mostly fine, just a bit painful. Cao Mu asked when he would go for a follow-up check-up and offered to accompany him.
Min Hui woke up in the middle of the night and saw that Xin Qi was still in a meeting. Unexpectedly, Xin Qi's computer suddenly broke down. Min Hui asked Xin Qi to use his phone for the meeting while she offered to fix the computer, which would take about twenty minutes. Min Hui repaired the computer and noticed that Xin Qi was still drinking coffee in the middle of the night. Xin Qi mentioned that he had another meeting in half an hour. Min Hui suggested that if he was so busy, he could go back to his own place, but Xin Qi refused.
Min Hui expressed that she would never let Quan Quan leave her. Xin Qi acknowledged that a child should not be without a mother and that he grew up in an orphanage. Xin Qi acknowledged that Quan Quan had experienced anger at that time because Min Hui knew about his hereditary disease but still chose to have the child, subjecting the child to the pain of undergoing surgery at such a young age. Min Hui stated that she couldn't bear to let go of a young life. Xin Qi expressed his gratitude to Min Hui for not giving up on Quan Quan.
Chen Qi Lang came to meet Xin Qi to apologize for the previous incident and presented their company's cancer screening project. He expressed his desire to collaborate with Xin Qi, and they reached a strategic agreement. They would jointly develop the Observing Tides project for the next ten years. Xin Qi noted that this would make Bluebird a cash cow for Observing Tides and said that he would consider the proposal.
A new administrative assistant named Zhong Mei Mei joined the R&D department. Ding Yi Feng had a meal with everyone, including Cao Mu and Min Hui. Ding Yi Feng pressured Zhong Mei Mei to drink, but Min Hui intervened to stop him. Ding Yi Feng felt that Min Hui was just pretending in front of them and didn't know how wild she could be outside. Cao Mu told him to cut it out, but Ding Yi Feng pointed out that Min Hui's child was already four years old, yet she dared not reveal who the child's father was. Xin Qi and Chen Jia Jun happened to come out at that moment, and Xin Qi punched Ding Yi Feng directly.
Min Hui said that she had agreed with Quan Quan that they wouldn't ride in Xin Qi's car anymore. Xin Qi asked Quan Quan if Little Mei had said that his car was cool, and he promised to take Little Mei for a ride after they went to kindergarten. Quan Quan agreed immediately.
Cao Mu accompanied Chen Jia Jun for an examination. When Chen Jia Jun saw a child who was injured, he rushed over, but Cao Mu realized that the child was already fine and that he had been deceived. Chen Jia Jun apologized to Cao Mu and said that he would leave.
