Episode 12 recap: Gu Qingqiao and Duan Yu escaped together after breaking up.
While Gu Qingqiao was imprisoned, she was worried about whether Shaoyi had been rescued. The jailer told her that Shaoyi had already been found and should be fine. Gu Qingqiao asked if she could see Duan Yu, but the jailer refused. Gu Qingqiao asked the jailer to go to Qingfeng Pavilion to get money, but the jailer said he didn't have the guts to do that. Mr. Qi had someone pass a message to the jailer, saying it was the Duan family's head's order to torture Gu Qingqiao and force her to say why she had kidnapped Shaoyi. Gu Qingqiao kept saying she had not kidnapped Shaoyi, and that they were both kidnapped by the Mandao sect together. When Gu Qingqiao heard that the jailer said it was the Duan family's head who ordered them to torture her, she asked Duan Yu if he was aware of this, but the jailer mocked her for still thinking about Duan Yu.
Gu Xingmi went to Qingfeng Pavilion to withdraw all the silver to use his connections to help Gu Qingqiao in prison, but Yang Chunfeng, accompanied by officials, said the county magistrate had ordered the sealing of Qingfeng Pavilion - not a single grain of rice could be taken away, and the county magistrate had also handed over the management rights to him. Duan Yu knew that Duan Yan planned to execute Gu Qingqiao in three days, so Duan Yu planned to rescue her from the execution site and send her to a safe place. Duan Yu also knew that Duan Yan knew Gu Qingqiao didn't know much about the Sacred Blood Sect, but was using her as "the heavenly star" who would overthrow the Duan family to lure the Sacred Blood Sect to come fight over her, so the Duan family and the county magistrate's men could capture the whole Sacred Blood Sect.
Shaoyi woke up and told Ruoyun to hurry and rescue Gu Qingqiao. Duan Yan came to see Shaoyi and told him that Gu Qingqiao had colluded with the Mandao sect to kidnap him and injure him, and that if Duan Yu hadn't arrived to rescue him, he would have died in the Mandao sect. Shaoyi told Duan Yan that he and Gu Qingqiao had been kidnapped together, and that he was able to be rescued because Gu Qingqiao had protected him. Duan Yan said the matter had already been settled by the authorities, and he had people keep an eye on Shaoyi to prevent him from leaving the manor.
Gu Qingqiao was to be executed the next day in the prison. Lu Zizheng sent someone to the prison to tell Gu Qingqiao that he would rescue her. Duan Yu brought braised pork to Gu Qingqiao, which he had cooked himself, and told her that he had no choice but to do this, and that everything would be back to normal after tomorrow.

Duan Yan ordered Duan Yu to pursue and capture Gu Qingqiao, dead or alive. As Gu Qingqiao fainted and fell unconscious, she seemed to see the Master again. The Master said that if the floral mark on her foot turned completely black, her death would be imminent, and she would never be able to return to her original world. The only way for her to go back was to find the Azure Wood Humanoid Sword.
Lu Zizheng told Gu Qingqiao that her father was fine, knowing that she had escaped the prison and even adding more meat and vegetables to the food, with Dong Xi and Ada accompanying him. Gu Qingqiao asked who Lu Zizheng was, able to freely come and go in various places, but Lu Zizheng said it didn't matter who he was, what mattered was who she was. Gu Qingqiao went to the Melancholy Tree and found the place where she had buried the Eight Characters had been disturbed, realizing that Duan Yu had distrusted her for a long time.
