Episode 29 recap: Title: Mufei Cheng's Allegiance to the Bloodlord Sect Exposed
Duan Yu and Qingqiao Gu investigated a dismemberment case at the local magistrate's office, where they encountered Mufei Cheng coming to identify the body. The victim turned out to be a servant of Xue Niang. Based on the circumstances, Qingqiao suspected the death was caused by a blood ritual, and Mufei's evasive responses raised her suspicions that he had allied with the Bloodlord Sect.
Duan Yu promptly informed Duan Yan of this discovery. Meanwhile, Xue Niang experienced another health crisis, and Lu Zizheng pressured Mufei to quickly obtain the treasure map in exchange for another Jade Falling Pearl, which could potentially save Xue Niang. Taking advantage of Mufei's absence, Duan Yu and Qingqiao searched his residence and found the imprisoned Shaoyi as well as the critically ill Xue Niang.
Qingqiao ordered Xue Niang to be taken away, but Xue Niang suddenly regained consciousness, took a jailer hostage, and revealed herself to be a disciple of the Xuexue Sect. Duan Yan then exposed Mufei's true allegiance to the Bloodlord Sect and intended to kill him, but Xue Niang intervened to protect Mufei.
Mufei pleaded for help to save Xue Niang, but Qingqiao determined that her condition was beyond help. Qingqiao then informed Mufei that the Jade Falling Pearl was actually a deadly poison, and he had been deceived by the Bloodlord Sect leader.
To force the Reverse Heaven Star to hand over the treasure map, the Bloodlord Sect had kidnapped students from the Jizhou Academy. Mufei wanted to rashly rescue them, but Duan Yan advised against it, suspecting the Bloodlord Sect would not honor their promise even if the map was surrendered.
Duan Yan entrusted the two treasure maps to Duan Yu for safekeeping and tried to stop Shaoyi from going to the Bloodlord Sect alone. However, Qingqiao secretly stole Shaoyi's hidden weapons and set off to the Bloodlord Sect on her own to rescue the students.
