Episode 34 recap: Qing Qiao Believes Song Yu is Duan Yu
In this episode, Gu Qing Qiao is wandering the streets, feeling hungry after forgetting to eat enough before going out. Suddenly, Song Yu appears and gives her two steamed buns, revealing that he has been secretly following her. Song Yu tells Qing Qiao that she can "trouble" him in the future, and Qing Qiao is touched, feeling that they have become close friends in a short time. Song Yu then shows Qing Qiao a necklace he has worn since childhood, which has a pendant that looks exactly like her, convincing him that their meeting is fate.
Qing Qiao tells Song Yu that the necklace is one of the Four Spirits, and she needs to collect all four to return home. Song Yu says that if Qing Qiao has time after gathering the Four Spirits, he will wait for her in Changqing.
When Song Yu returns home, he finds that his parents have been killed by the Holy Blood Sect. His father had been targeted for publishing a collection that exposed the sect's misdeeds. Fortunately, Song Yu was not home at the time and escaped harm. However, Lu Zi Zheng discovers Duan Yu's jade pendant and orders the Holy Blood Sect to capture Song Yu.
Qing Qiao tries to take Song Yu to seek protection from the West Tomb Sect, but they are captured by a group of bandits. To her surprise, the bandit leader is Shao Yi, who wants them to lead an attack on the Holy Blood Sect. Song Yu, seeking revenge for his parents, agrees to join the attack, though he appears weak. But when Shao Yi doubts his abilities, Qing Qiao reveals that Song Yu was a legendary archer in a previous life, and he unexpectedly proves his skills with the sleeve arrow.
As they plan the attack on the Holy Blood Sect, Qing Qiao realizes the plan is flawed. She proposes instead to find the Four Spirits and open the portal to restore the world. Just then, the Holy Blood Sect attacks Black Tiger Mountain, and Yue Yun uses a powerful blood technique to kill many of the attackers.
