Episode 16 recap: Wang Xin and Ma Yan were trapped in the mountains overnight.
Yao Yu Ling took the initiative to bring food and was so gentle and considerate to Niu Da Li that Niu Da Li felt extremely flattered. He felt like he was dreaming and couldn't snap out of it for a long time. On New Year's Eve, Wang Xin went home to have a reunion dinner with Wang Yong Ge. Wang Yong Ge kept asking about work and reminded Wang Xin to visit Ma Kui during the New Year and try to get him to speak some good words so that he could be transferred back as soon as possible.

Wang Xin and Ma Yan waited for the rain to stop at the bunker they left behind during the battle. They waited until evening, with strong winds and heavy rain, and it was extremely cold. Wang Xin took off his coat and gave it to Ma Yan, but it was still very cold. They had no choice but to huddle together to keep warm.
Ma Kui worried about Ma Yan all night and didn't hear from her. He had to rush to Hongyang Train Station, which scared Wang Xin. Seeing Wang Xin so frightened, Ma Yan suggested that he feign illness while she dealt with Ma Kui.

Wang Xin and Lin Jian Jun watched the scam duo's performance. Wang Xin recognized one of the men in the duo, the same man who had falsely accused him and led to his transfer to Hongyang Train Station. This time, Wang Xin didn't immediately apprehend them. He quietly followed the duo, waiting for them to receive the money and divide the spoils before catching them.
