Episode 9 recap: Ma Kui cleverly subdues the gang of chicken robbers.
Both Ma Kui and Ma Yan sympathize with Wang Su Fang, who is sick. When they return home, they help with cooking. Seeing the harmonious atmosphere of the family, Wang Su Fang feels that her concealment is justified, so she chooses not to say anything. Niu Da Li mistakenly believes that Yao Yu Ling is in love with him and is secretly sending him signals. He feels very happy and even works extra hard.
A group of chicken robbers boarded the train at Chunlin Station. Each of them carried a knife and as soon as they got on the train, they forced the passengers to buy their roasted chicken. If the passengers refused to buy, they would directly rob them of their money. Jia Jin Long sat honestly in his seat, and the robbers thought he was an easy target and must have some money. They forced him to eat the roasted chicken and pay, and if he refused, they would brandish their knives.
Jia Jin Long dared not refuse to pay. In the moment of hesitation, Wang Xin and Ma Kui arrived to intervene. Unexpectedly, the robbers were not afraid of them and directly brandished their knives, ready to surround them. Wang Xin, seeing that the robbers wouldn't back down, immediately got into a physical altercation with them. This put Ma Kui in a difficult position, and she could only assist Wang Xin in subduing the robbers to pressure the gang leader so that he wouldn't act recklessly.
Ma Kui negotiated with the gang leader, urging them to stop their activities and get off at the next station without further robbery. They agreed to Ma Kui's conditions, and Ma Kui signaled the other railway police officers to report to Lu Hong Xing. Before the next stop, the train, which had been continuously passing Ningdian Station, informed the local police to arrive at the station and arrest the robbers.
When the robbers thought they had arrived at the station and got off the train, they were immediately caught by the police. They realized that they had fallen into Ma Kui's trap, and the passengers on the train applauded the actions of the railway police. After the situation was resolved, Wang Xin asked Ma Kui about the secret language she used when negotiating with the gang leader. He wanted to learn from Ma Kui, but instead, he received a scolding from her.
Wang Xin acted without considering the consequences, disregarding the safety of the passengers, and casually pulling out his gun. Ma Kui believed that his behavior was very wrong and criticized Wang Xin severely. Yao Yu Ling went to Wang's house to find Wang Xin, but he was not there. Instead, she helped Wang Yong Ge tidy up the house, which Wang Yong Ge appreciated.
When Wang Xin returned home, Wang Yong Ge specifically mentioned Yao Yu Ling, but Wang Xin misunderstood and thought Wang Yong Ge wanted to get along well with Shen Xiu Ping, so he readily agreed.

Hou San Jin had no choice but to inform Ma Kui about the situation in the south, explaining that the country had relaxed its control and advised Ma Kui not to cling to outdated ideas.
Wang Xin learned a lot from Ma Kui and gradually developed admiration for her. He no longer mentioned changing mentors and instead focused on learning from Ma Kui with dedication. When Ma Kui returned home and saw Wang Su Fang exhausted from taking care of the child, she once again suggested sending the child away. However, Wang Su Fang was resolute in keeping the child, and Ma Kui had no choice but to agree.
Not wanting Wang Su Fang to suffer, Ma Kui sought help from Hu Dui Zhang to see if the organization could assist them in finding a new house, so they wouldn't have to endure the discomfort of wind and rain leaking into their current home. With Hu Dui Zhang's assistance, Ma Kui's family quickly moved into a courtyard, and the entire neighborhood celebrated by setting off firecrackers and helping them with the move.
Wang Yong Ge warmly brought two thermos flasks as a gesture of care from his family to Ma Kui's family. However, Ma Kui did not want to accept his kindness and quickly sent him away without much conversation. Ma Kui's family settled into their new home, and Wang Su Fang prepared to register the child's household registration. Ma Kui named the child Ma Jian.
While on the train, Ma Kui saw Bai Yu Xia, but this time Bai Yu Xia had someone new by their side, which surprised Ma Kui.
