In Episode 15, Yuan Mo observes that Chen Xinliang's men are wearing heavy leather boots, clearly a sign of years spent traversing the desert. They are also adept at ventriloquism and have ruthless methods, leading Yuan Mo to suspect that these individuals might be the legendary Faceless Ones While Wang Kun Wu is eager to seek vengeance for his brother, Chen Xinliang remains calm and reassures him that the White-Clad Guest will eventually find them both, urging Wang Kun Wu to be patient
Meanwhile, A Shu and Yu Chi Hua are at a standstill in their search of the Honglian Society's hall. In a moment of desperation, A Shu breaks what appears to be an ordinary magic bottle, discovering a hidden passage leading to the cellar. The cellar is cold and damp, making it hard to believe how Xiao E could have lived there for an extended period.
In one corner of the cellar, they find a small hole sealed with dirt, containing a tiny bottle with half a pill inside, which raises everyone's suspicions. Xiao E, who has been wrongfully imprisoned for twelve hours, is released due to a lack of evidence. When Kang Yun Hai greets her outside the Jingzhao Prefecture, the crowd cheers; however, A Shu and Yu Chi Hua suddenly present the small bottle found in the cellar, intent on uncovering the truth.
Initially, Xiao E dismisses the situation, but when A Shu pretends to destroy the small bottle, she becomes anxious. An Xiu Yi seizes the opportunity to declare that Xiao E is a suspect and decides to continue her detention.
To gather clues, Yuan Mo tries to manipulate Qing Er by revealing that her mother is alone and living in poverty, hoping to sway her. Although Qing Er is moved, she seems to be afraid of something and ultimately refuses Yuan Mo's request.
After discovering the depth of her poisoning but still yearning for freedom, Xiao E finally shares her backstory. She reveals that she was an orphan taken in by Chen Xinliang, who taught her mechanical skills. However, her desire for freedom led Chen Xinliang to control her with pills.
She discloses that the place where Yuan Mo and Wang Kun Wu are held, the Lantian County Green Wave Villa, is where Chen Xinliang conducts his slave trading. Qing Er secretly infiltrates the holding place to inquire about her mother, while Yuan Mo asks her to help Wang Kun Wu find the antidote first.
Xiao E mentions that a胡商 (Hui merchant) is about to go to Green Wave Villa for a trade, prompting Yu Chi Hua to bribe the merchant and prepare to rescue them in person. An Xiu Yi and A Shu also volunteer to join the mission.
However, Qing Er's act of delivering the antidote raises suspicions and is uncovered by Yuan Mo. During the transaction at Green Wave Villa, An Xiu Yi deliberately bids high for all the slaves to draw Chen Xinliang's attention. Once Chen Xinliang sees through the scheme, he imprisons An Xiu Yi, while A Shu seizes the opportunity to escape and signal for help. Yu Chi Hua, hindered outside the villa, can only lead everyone to hide in a straw hut for safety.
At a critical moment, Wang Kun Wu takes advantage of Chen Xinliang's negligence, suddenly attacking and taking him hostage, successfully rescuing Yuan Mo. Meanwhile, Yuan Mo crashes through the wooden door of the straw hut with a cart, freeing A Shu and the refugees. After everyone safely returns to the Sifang Pavilion, Yu Chi Hua and Wang Kun Wu begin to register and settle the refugees, while A Shu discovers that they have been poisoned by the Black Wind Powder.
Realizing that Chen Xinliang might have used this poison to incapacitate the guards for his escape, they hurriedly return to the prison to investigate, confirming their suspicions. While pursuing the cart transporting the refugees, Chen Xinliang again threatens them with the antidote to the Black Wind Powder. However, in this critical moment, Lin Su Su quietly appears and kills Chen Xinliang.
Although An Xiu Yi scolds Lin Su Su for being too reckless, her words reveal deep concern. When Yuan Mo asks Wang Kun Wu how he obtained the antidote, Wang Kun Wu smiles and explains that he held his breath from the beginning to avoid inhaling the Black Wind Powder, pretending to be weak just to protect Yuan Mo. Yuan Mo feels Wang Kun Wu's deep friendship, filled with emotion and joy.
