Episode 20 recap: "To save Ning Yuan Zhou, Ruyi cut her wrist.
Jin Mei Niang disguised herself as a shepherd girl to sell sheep. Qian Zhao recognized Jin Mei Niang and knew she must have something important to discuss, so he took her inside. Jin Mei Niang apologized to Ruyi for arriving late, but Ruyi felt that Jin Mei Niang had come at the right time. Jin Mei Niang informed Ruyi that she had followed Ruyi's instructions and arrived at the inn. She recognized Liuli based on the earrings she wore and pretended to get close to her. Liuli approached Jin Mei Niang in an attempt to gather information about Ruyi.
Following Ruyi's instructions, Jin Mei Niang pretended not to know that Ruyi was still alive. She analyzed the situation for Liuli, explaining that if Ruyi was alive, Li Tong Guang would undoubtedly neglect Liuli. Therefore, it was in Liuli's best interest not to reveal the truth even if she knew it. Liuli also had her own selfish motives, which was why she pretended not to recognize Ruyi on that day.
After hearing Jin Mei Niang's revelations, Ruyi realized that Liuli didn't recognize her that day because of this information. Ruyi was puzzled why Jin Mei Niang had concealed this information when she had asked about it previously. Jin Mei Niang told Ruyi that Li Tong Guang's feelings for her were not just that of a master and disciple, but romantic. After Ruyi's supposed death, Li Tong Guang had gone mad. He bribed the guards to enter the scene of the fire and desperately searched for Ruyi's body. He hid Ruyi's body in a cave and visited to pay respects every 15th of the month. He also arranged numerous marriage proposals.
However, Ruyi didn't believe that Li Tong Guang had romantic feelings for her. Jin Mei Niang believed that if Ruyi wasn't interested in Ning Yuan Zhou, she would find a suitable husband for her. Yu Shi San overheard this conversation and wanted to inform Ning Yuan Zhou but was stopped by Jin Mei Niang.
Li Tong Guang came to the mansion to threaten Ning Yuan Zhou into handing over Ruyi. Ruyi exposed Li Tong Guang's dark intentions and told him that if he acknowledged their relationship, Emperor Anguo would never spare him. Furthermore, the position he had worked so hard to obtain would be lost in an instant. If his master knew about his true intentions, she would also find it repulsive.
Li Tong Guang instantly broke down and, unable to accept the reality, hurriedly fled. Ruyi told Yang Ying that to control someone, one must exploit their weaknesses. Suddenly, Ning Yuan Zhou embraced Ruyi, knowing that she had always been strong and was moved by her willingness to reveal her scars for their sake. He assured Ruyi that she would never be alone.
Jin Mei Niang secretly listened nearby and saw Yu Shi San. She gave a hint to Liuli."
On his way home, Li Tong Guang suddenly encountered an assassination attempt. However, the assailants were outnumbered, so Li Tong Guang sent out a signal for help. Ning Yuan Zhou led a group of people to rescue Li Tong Guang, while Ruyi secretly observed from behind. Due to the lack of an antidote and the enemy being armed, Ning Yuan Zhou's actions were hindered. Ruyi appeared masked, as Li Tong Guang believed that capturing the leader was the key to subduing the thieves, leading to a chaotic scene.
Ning Yuan Zhou's physical strength waned, and he was injured. Li Tong Guang recognized Ruyi as his master and in his deranged state, declared that his master belonged to him alone, and no one could take her away. Taking advantage of the confusion, Ruyi killed the leader of the assailants, causing the rest to flee in disarray.
When the members of the Liu Dao Tang arrived, Ning Yuan Zhou had already collapsed and couldn't hold on any longer. Ruyi, tearfully anxious, reluctantly informed Qian Zhao that Ning Yuan Zhou had been poisoned with an incurable toxin from the previous dynasty. Qian Zhao and the others were surprised that Ning Yuan Zhou had been afflicted with such a poison without an antidote. Ruyi explained that Zhang Song had poisoned Ning Yuan Zhou's tea to control him completely, and due to delays in their journey, they hadn't obtained the antidote in time, resulting in the onset of the poison.
Qian Zhao knew that this type of poison was unbearable once it took effect and wondered how Ning Yuan Zhou had managed to endure it. With no other options available, Ruyi cut her wrist to save Ning Yuan Zhou. Li Tong Guang failed to uncover the identities of the assassins, and although he wanted Ning Yuan Zhou dead, he was afraid that Ruyi would hate him.
Ruyi reluctantly bid farewell to Ning Yuan Zhou. She would rather try the antidote Li Tong Guang had obtained and test it on herself for the sake of Ning Yuan Zhou. Ruyi stayed by Ning Yuan Zhou's side, their clothes still entwined, and finally, Ning Yuan Zhou regained consciousness, bringing relief to Ruyi.
Why do I feel like Qian Zhao in Six Paths Hall is the most likely to be attracted to Ren Ru Yi? It's that kind of person who has certain abilities, isn't easily moved emotionally or accepts others easily.
When they encounter someone with strong abilities who saves them and they're ready to accept that person, they develop doubts and misunderstandings due to certain circumstances, hurting that person.
Once the misunderstandings are cleared, she forgives me, and from then on, I've been silently observing her. And she, wholeheartedly devoted to everyone, gradually captivates me with her abilities and charismatic personality, without her even realizing it.
The scene where they saved Old Ning, oh, oh, oh, it made me cry. When Ren Xin realized it was beyond saving, she stayed strong and said it was fortunate that Yuan Zhou was asleep and not in pain. When she saw a glimmer of hope, she decisively bled herself to save Old Ning.
When Old Ning woke up and apologized, she suppressed her own collapse and sadness. When Jiu'er brought the medicine, it felt like grabbing a lifeline! The contrast in emotions was so vivid. After staying up all night, with disheveled hair, when Old Ning woke up, he was a bit flustered and grabbed Qian Zhao's hand, afraid that something was wrong.
After hearing Qian Zhao say that everything was fine, he went outside alone to vent. Ah, my heart aches for Ren Xin.
So, the drama is already halfway through, and Li Tong Guang still doesn't know that his master is actually alive? Li Tong Guang is not inherently bad. He and Chu Gui Fei clearly have a love-hate relationship, and he hasn't done anything to truly harm Chu Gui Fei.
He even gave her life-saving medicine. Isn't it worth telling him the truth? The reason I sympathize with Yujie is that everyone knows that Ren Xin is still alive.
It's clear that Yujie cares deeply about Ren Xin. For so many years, Yujie has lived in pain and remorse because of her master's supposed death, and yet, the person who cares the most about Ren Xin is being kept in the dark by everyone else.
And when Yujie is in chaos because of someone who resembles her master, everyone comes to criticize her actions. But wouldn't she be much more clear-headed if she knew her master was still alive?
With her master present, she would never act recklessly, and she wouldn't harm her master or the people her master cares about, right? Why is she still being kept in the dark at this crucial moment?
Doesn't anyone truly care about her?
When Ren Xin witnessed Ning Tou's near-death experience, her heart was filled with grief and she cried bitterly. But when she learned that Ning Tou had survived, and that Jiu'er had even provided the medicine, did she ever consider how devastated Jiu'er must have been when she thought her beloved master was gone?
Jiu'er's heart would only be filled with more regret and pain. Did Ren Xin never think about telling Jiu'er the truth? I'll say something unpleasant: as sweet as the relationship between Ren Xin and Ning Tou may be, behind them, Jiu'er is suffering from the loss of her master.
Isn't there anyone who will stand up for Jiu'er? While watching these two episodes, as the bond between Ren Xin and Ning Yuan Zhou deepens, I can't help but feel unsettled about Li Tong Guang.
While they enjoy their sweet moments and reconcile, Li Tong Guang is driven mad by his longing for his master...
Moreover, was the marriage with Chu Yue his decision to make? It's obvious that he agreed to marry Chu Yue for the sake of his grand plan. I also understand that Ren Xin and Jiu'er are not suitable for each other, and I never expected Jiu'er to be with Ren Xin.
But! But! Can't they at least know the truth behind their lifelong friendship? Don't they deserve a sincere and genuine rejection?
Ren Ru Yi is someone who is quite rational. She doesn't want to be tied down by the past. Her words afterwards were just a gentle reminder to Li Tong Guang. If you look at it from a different perspective, Ren Ru Yi wanted to save her disciple.
At the moment when her disciple handed her the medicine, she even said that if it was poison, she would die. This shows that she also has a great deal of trust in her disciple's character.
He is wrong to have inappropriate thoughts about his master. This goes against common principles in any era. Just because he likes and obsesses over someone, does that give him the right to impose his emotions on them? He used conditions to blackmail Ru Yi, which is an insult to her.
Were his past hardships caused by his master? It's understandable to sympathize with his experiences and empathize with his feelings, but where he went wrong, he went wrong. Everything he did after meeting Ru Yi was not what a real man would do.
Ru Yi reminded him and taught him about their past master-disciple relationship.
Li Tong Guang has only had his master since childhood. He was abandoned by his mother and it was his master who gave him hope. But then his master left him, and afterward, everyone looked down on him. Even if he stands at the top now, he achieved everything through sheer determination and was even manipulated.
He always believed his master was dead, and now seeing his master not recognizing him and treating him that way, how can he be kind-hearted? If you had experienced so much from a young age and still managed to be kind-hearted, that would be truly remarkable.
Just by watching a TV show, some people can have such sour expressions and make judgmental comments about Li Tong Guang. Please don't stand on a pedestal of self-righteousness and comment on Li Tong Guang. Everyone is innocent.
Without experiencing someone else's pain, don't claim to be kind-hearted. I hope in the end, he can reconcile with his master and both find their own happiness.
After watching the first six episodes: Wow, four-star rating! Just that the male lead is a bit unattractive. As I continue watching: Liu Shi Shi, can't you just date someone else? I'm both excited and surprised. Seeing the male and female leads together in a scene, the unattractive male characters in this drama deserve a deduction of one star.
As I continue watching: What is this? Using Liu Shi Shi's face to lure viewers in, and then presenting me with some confusing storyline? Two stars is the maximum I can give!
And Ren Ru Yi's denial of Ren Xin and Li Tong Guang's confusion about his own feelings further fueled the raging wildfire in Li Tong Guang's heart, which was already on the verge of collapse.
However, in this episode, Li Tong Guang witnessed the breakdown of the Hu Yang County Princess, who bore an uncanny resemblance to his master, and his heart softened. His master's tears were a gentle rain that slightly extinguished the wildfire in his heart, and Jiu'er ran out.
Jiu'er knew that Ning Yuan Zhou had saved him, and Jiu'er didn't want his master to hate him, so Li Tong Guang saved Ning Yuan Zhou. I'm glad that Yu Shi San saw the cracks in Li Tong Guang's shell and keenly perceived the scorched Jiu'er.
Jiu'er was actually a child with warmth in his heart. Jiu'er wanted to be loved and wanted his master to be proud of him, but he was also afraid of being hurt. So, only the scheming Li Tong Guang stood up to protect himself and the people Jiu'er wanted to protect.
The Liuli by his master's side, the Zhu Yan his master pointed to him, even though they had hurt them because of madness, Li Tong Guang always protected their lives.
Unfortunately, at this moment, Ren Ru Yi only cared about Ning Yuan Zhou's safety in her heart.
And Jiu'er was deeply hidden in her heart along with Ren Xin's past. I think Ren Ru Yi hasn't realized yet that she can't escape her fate. Since she is Ren Xin, she can't simply seek revenge on Empress Zhao Jie as Ren Ru Yi or repay Empress Zhao Jie's kindness to Ren Xin.
Seeing this, I sincerely hope that Ren Ru Yi can face all her emotions as Ren Xin sooner (this is just my hope, the screenwriter may not think so). In this way, Li Tong Guang can recognize his long-lost feelings earlier, and Jiu'er can free himself from the burning wildfire.
Without attachments, Li Tong Guang can truly achieve great things, and Jiu'er can find his master again.
Regarding Li Tong Guang, regarding Jiu'er, I hope this is a story of self-awareness, self-redemption, and self-liberation.
I hope the screenwriter can compose a cathartic melody for the fate between master and disciple.
(As for Chu Gui Fei, Tong Guang may be using her more because his feelings and obsession for his master run too deep, making it difficult for him to feel others' sincerity. But I heard that Chu Gui Fei will block a blow later? Perhaps then Li Tong Guang will realize that there is still genuine affection after his master, even if it is likely that Chu Gui Fei will seek genuine affection in vain.)
In the end, Xin Guang master and disciple, please recognize each other soon! Tong Guang, Jiu'er, I wish you both to have your desires fulfilled, whether it's in the court or the martial world, throughout your lives!
The above is just my personal thoughts and is unrelated to the subsequent plot.
Please forget about it after reading.
