Episode 21 recap: Gu Hui Zhong Accidentally Killed by Hu Zhi Ping
In Episode 21, Hu Zhi Ping chats with Zhou Zhen Wu, pretending to care about his well-being, but actually trying to get closer to him. Zhou Zhen Wu, holding a can of baby formula, appears friendly, but he harbors a dark secret. Seizing the moment, Hu Zhi Ping enthusiastically invites Zhou Zhen Wu to dinner, eager to gather information about Xiao Ruo Tong, but Zhou Zhen Wu remains evasive.
During their conversation, Zhou Zhen Wu accidentally reveals a secret trip of provincial leaders to the Soviet Union, causing Hu Zhi Ping to feel alarmed. Before he can react, Zhou Zhen Wu pulls out a gun. In a split second, Hu Zhi Ping cleverly uses a nearby innocent child as bait, throwing the child toward Zhou Zhen Wu. Instinctively, Zhou Zhen Wu reaches for the child, giving Hu Zhi Ping the opportunity to strike back, ultimately eliminating Zhou Zhen Wu.

Faced with Gu Hui Zhong's questioning, Hu Zhi Ping finally admitted to being a member of "Cell 8" and revealed the circumstances of his betrayal under Zhou Zhi Fei's threat. This shocking truth complicated and heightened the danger of the situation.
As Gu Hui Zhong listened to Hu Zhi Ping's confession, her emotions were a whirlwind. Hu Zhi Ping held her in despair, and when pressed by Zhou Zhi Fei, he desperately declared that if Gu Hui Zhong died, he would never reveal any information. Seeing Hu Zhi Ping was no longer of any use, Zhou Zhi Fei pulled the trigger, ending Hu Zhi Ping's life.
