Episode 7 recap: # Gu Yi Zhong Joins the 90th Spy Organization

## In Episode 7, Gu Yi Zhong receives an unsigned note while in his hospital bed, inviting him to join the mysterious 90th Spy Organization. The note claims it holds the key to identifying an internal traitor. This unexpected news throws him into turmoil; he realizes that embarking on this path means saying goodbye to his former self. However, he feels he has no choice and steels himself to take the plunge.

On the day of his discharge, his father comes to pick him up, intending to take him away from trouble. But Gu Yi Zhong finds an excuse to send the butler away and privately confesses his decision to his father. Furious, his father believes his son is jumping into a fire pit, bringing shame to the entire Gu family. Yet, Gu Yi Zhong is resolute. Even if his father misunderstands him as a "traitor," he feels compelled to fulfill the mission entrusted to him by the organization.

Meanwhile, Jin Jiang rushes to Zhou Zhi Fei to report that Gu Yi Zhong claims to be an undercover agent infiltrating the Communist Party, having already pledged allegiance to Kondo Masao. Zhou Zhi Fei frowns, troubled by this news. He immediately heads to Kondo's location to prevent a potential "betrayal." However, Kondo smiles and tells him that Gu Yi Zhong is, to him, just another pawn serving the Greater East Asia Co-Prosperity Sphere, much like Zhou Zhi Fei’s own son, You Fei. Kondo even presents a letter from You Fei, leaving Zhou Zhi Fei with mixed emotions.

On another front, Gu Yi Zhong prepares to go home and pack his belongings. On his way, he encounters Quan Shui, who warns Hai Mo that marrying Gu Yi Zhong might bring disgrace. Yet, Hai Mo understands Gu Yi Zhong and believes he has his reasons. She offers to help him pack, and an unspoken bond forms between them.

When Hai Mo attempts to lift something heavy, Gu Yi Zhong gently stops her, insisting she leave the troubled area and return to her hometown for safety. He carries his suitcase step by step toward his father's house but can only express his apologies and respect from outside the door before silently walking away. He knows this departure may irreparably damage their father-son relationship.

Huang Xin Zhai leads Gu Yi Zhong into the spy lounge of the 90th Station, where the atmosphere is tense. Gao Hu appears busy but is actually keeping a close watch on Gu Yi Zhong's every move. Huang Xin Zhai quietly informs Gu Yi Zhong that Gao Hu is his "shadow," heightening his alertness.

In the days that follow, Gu Yi Zhong undergoes grueling spy training, while Zhou Zhi Fei tests his loyalty and resolve through extreme methods. Nonetheless, Gu Yi Zhong grits his teeth and endures. He understands that this is not just a physical challenge but also a test of his spirit. He must prove himself—driven by a greater mission and his inner convictions, he must forge ahead, even if the path is fraught with thorns.
