Episode 10 recap: Kiko began cooperating with Lin Yingshu in investigating the case.
When Lin Yingshu tried to persuade Shao Feifei to help, he deliberately elevated the discussion to a moral level, asking Kiko if she could bear to see an innocent girl die in such a mysterious way. This statement happened to touch Kiko's sore spot. Kiko's sister, Wang Xiaoke, had done something wrong, but Kiko's mother, in her anger, scolded her, saying that she gave birth to her and raised her not for her to ruin herself.
While their mother was angry, Wang Xiaoke remained silent. Kiko quietly followed her when she left home, only to discover that Wang Xiaoke fell from a bridge and died. There was a man wearing a windbreaker standing on the bridge, who glanced at Wang Xiaoke and then walked away. After her sister's death, Lin Sen had tried to talk to their mother to understand the situation, but their mother blamed Wang Xiaoke's death on her own actions and refused to cooperate with Lin Sen's work.
Back at home, Kiko took a look at the information Lin Yingshu had given her and unexpectedly found that the tattoo on Shao Feifei's back was exactly the same as her sister's. So she tried to log into Shao Feifei's account and, after bypassing several firewalls, she entered a mysterious place where many masked people were present. She wanted to get closer and observe, but she was discovered by someone. After escaping from that place, Kiko was filled with cold sweat.
Kiko didn't find any clues in Shao Feifei's computer, so she went to the place where Shao Feifei was murdered. Although the surveillance cameras at the crime scene were destroyed, Kiko managed to find some information through other cameras. It turned out that Shao Feifei frequently visited that hotel, but each time she used a fake ID, as if she were involved in something shady. In addition, Kiko also discovered that Shao Feifei never came to the hotel alone.
While Kiko was in the hotel, using her own computer to view the surveillance footage, a security guard approached her and asked what she was doing. Kiko was about to come up with an excuse when Lin Yingshu suddenly walked over and stopped the security guard. He showed his identification and claimed to be a police officer investigating the case. Although he didn't obtain any valuable information, he successfully bought Kiko some time.
After leaving the Laurant Hotel, Kiko deliberately asked Lin Yingshu if he was impersonating a police officer. Lin Yingshu explained to her that he used to be a police officer but is now retired. Kiko couldn't understand why Lin Yingshu was so enthusiastic about this case, so Lin Yingshu told her about his son's aspiration to become a chief. Learning that he was doing all of this for his loved ones, Kiko couldn't help but think of her sister again.
Lin Yingshu drove Kiko to Lide Academy because Shao Feifei was a student there. She had just graduated this year, and they wanted to go there to gather information about her. After arriving at Lide Academy, Lin Yingshu saw a male student being bullied by classmates. He showed his identification and drove away the bullies. However, because he was seen accompanying the male student and inquiring about Shao Feifei, the security guard mistook him for a pervert.
Watching Lin Yingshu being chased by the security guard, Kiko couldn't help but laugh. When Lin Yingshu returned to the car, Kiko took him into the social network of Lide Academy to let him gather information about Shao Feifei. On the social network, there were indeed people discussing Shao Feifei. Only a few people praised her for being smart and beautiful, while the rest were talking about her indecent photos and her new boyfriend.
Kiko believed that the information they needed must be on Shao Feifei's phone, which was currently at the police station. Lin Yingshu decided to go to the police station and steal the phone. Lin Sen approached Li Can and asked if the autopsy report for Shao Feifei was ready, but he was mocked by Li Can. Even the chief criticized Lin Sen for being too obsessed. Lin Sen was doubting himself when he unexpectedly saw his father in the corridor. Lin Yingshu encouraged his son to stay firm in his beliefs and reminded him that when everyone else stands on the right side, the truth may lie on the left.
Lin Sen checked the police records related to the Laurant Hotel and found a case involving a girl named Fang Siya, who had reported being violated. He went to see her, showed her Shao Feifei's photo, and asked if she knew about the tattoo on Shao Feifei's body. However, Fang Siya refused to say anything. As Lin Sen was about to leave, she suddenly stopped him and asked what had happened to Shao Feifei.
