Episode 2 recap: Cherry blossoms fell and died.
Peng Xi came over and gave Lin Mo an injection, causing Lin Mo to faint. When Lin Mo woke up, a person who claimed to be a psychotherapist named An Song began questioning him. Lin Mo truthfully explained the situation to An Song and asked him about a girl with the surname Hua in the Angel Rehabilitation Hospital. After thinking for a moment, An Song told Lin Mo that there was a girl named Cherry Blossom in the intensive care area.
When Lin Mo left An Song, he casually stole a safety pin. At night, when the guard was asleep, he quietly picked the lock with the safety pin and stole the key to the main gate from the guard's waist. He successfully passed through several doors, but the last one had a security lock. As soon as he touched the security lock, the alarm went off. After the security guard caught Lin Mo, Peng Xi saw the mess Lin Mo was in and took him to the electrotherapy room.
In the electrotherapy room, Peng Xi had Lin Mo tied up and subjected him to electric torture, treating him like a criminal. After being electrocuted, Lin Mo had a dream in which Dabang told him not to consider himself a normal person if he wanted to survive there. When Lin Mo woke up, he became very obedient. When there was only one nurse named Nancy left in the room, he smelled the scent from the male nurse earlier on Nancy. Worried that he would reveal her ugly secret, Nancy loosened Lin Mo's restraints and let him meet Cherry Blossom.
Lin Mo went to meet Cherry Blossom and revealed his identity to her. However, Cherry Blossom looked at him with suspicion and proposed a condition. After Dabang was killed, his body should be buried in the back mountain. If Lin Mo could bring back one of Dabang's little fingers, she would tell him what she knew.
To gain Cherry Blossom's trust, Lin Mo agreed to her unreasonable request. While they were talking, Nancy approached and reminded Lin Mo that he should change shifts. Lin Mo asked Nancy to help him find a flashlight. The next day, Lin Mo was taken to An Song for treatment again and took the opportunity to learn about Cherry Blossom's story. He then discovered that Cherry Blossom had been placed in the intensive care area because she had bitten off the little finger of Patient 321.
An Song is writing a novel titled "The Fallen Angel." Lin Mo wants to know the full story of Cherry Blossom and offers to exchange it with his own first love story. An Song reluctantly agrees. From An Song, Lin Mo learns that Cherry Blossom suspected her stepfather of killing her mother, so she bit off one of his fingers and was subsequently sent to a mental hospital.
After hearing Cherry Blossom's story, Lin Mo also wants to know the stories of the director, Da Ming, and Peng Xi. However, due to time constraints, An Song asks him to exchange for other stories next time. After getting the flashlight, Lin Mo heads towards the back mountain as it gets dark. Just as Cherry Blossom provided the information, the security in the back mountain is indeed more relaxed. Upon reaching the back mountain, Lin Mo smashes a large flowerpot and starts digging with broken tiles. To his surprise, the first body he digs up is Patient 321. Nancy had previously told him that Patient 321 was discharged not long after being bitten by Cherry Blossom, but he didn't expect to find the body buried here.
He carefully examines the body of Patient 321 and discovers a sutured wound on his abdomen. He then digs up several more bodies with similar conditions. When he digs up the body of Da Bang, the security guards notice him on the surveillance cameras. Lin Mo is caught by the security guards, and Peng Xi brutally tortures him again. In a daze, he has a mental communication with Da Bang and realizes that the Angel Hospital is involved in illegal organ trafficking.
With Nancy's help, Lin Mo successfully meets Cherry Blossom again. This time, Cherry Blossom clearly believes him and tells him about her stepfather's abuse. She asks him to help her escape. According to Cherry Blossom's plan, Lin Mo triggers a fire alarm using a mirror shard and prepares to escape with her by jumping into the river from the third floor of the hospital's office area. However, before they can jump, Shama suddenly appears with an axe, chasing after them.
Because Shama is too fierce, neither Lin Mo nor Cherry Blossom can match him. In the end, Lin Mo watches helplessly as Cherry Blossom falls from the building and dies.
The atmosphere of the Angel Rest Home is really spine-chilling, especially when the head nurse appears, the sense of oppression is so strong! As I watched, what made me feel the most despair is that once a normal person enters a mental institution, they can't prove their sanity.
Once branded with that label, the feeling of being unable to escape is terrifying!
1. Why does the deceased pianist have a cherry blossom tattoo on the palm of his hand with a pen? Who did it and when? It definitely wasn't the cherry blossom itself, because the pianist left bloodstains on her wrist in a desperate struggle before he died.
So the cherry blossom definitely didn't want anyone to know that she killed the pianist.
2. Why did the cherry blossom ask Lin Mo to bring her the little finger of the deceased pianist?
Why did Lin Mo later say that the cherry blossom didn't want him to bring the little finger, but wanted to tell him the truth?
3. How did the deceased pianist manage to go to the third floor on the day he called Lin Mo?
How did he open the door to the director's office?
The mastermind behind the first case is the doctor who writes books and listens to stories, right? The hospital director is at most an accomplice. They wouldn't reveal the killer so blatantly right from the start.
And there are two details in the final counseling session. First, the doctor put away the recorder before leaving, which wasn't shown in the previous sessions. Second, when Lin Mo asked the director what kind of person he is, the doctor said he's a normal person, not a patient.
We know that Yinghua is a normal person, but before she died, she told Lin Mo that she's not crazy and that the director and others are crazy. From this, we can infer that the doctor should also have some issues because he appears too normal, and it's even possible that he deliberately set up a situation to provoke Lin Mo when he entered.
