Episode 5 recap: Lawyer Nanwen was killed.

Lin Mo went to An Song's office and saw that An Song was still pretending to be confused. He directly revealed that he was King. When An Song refused to admit it, Lin Mo presented the evidence. An Song had a family history of hereditary mental illness and had been afraid of being seen as crazy since he could remember. Later, he went to college and studied psychology, but the childhood fear continued to haunt him, which is why he came to the Angel Sanatorium and became a psychiatrist.

An Song discovered that Da Ming killed Kata and used this to threaten Da Ming to do things for him. In the process of treating patients, he learned the secrets of everyone's hearts and used them to control those patients. In An Song's eyes, the Angel Sanatorium was his kingdom. The purpose of his killings was only to obtain pleasure, not just for money. The reason the pianist was killed was because he knew his secret.

The pianist refused to admit everything Lin Mo said because his profession was psychology, and it was difficult to pry open his mouth with ordinary interrogation. Lin Mo accidentally learned that An Song had never left the Angel Sanatorium since he arrived there, so he took him to the bustling district and abandoned him on the street. An Song's delusional disorder indeed flared up. It seemed that everyone was calling him mentally ill. He was scared and hid in a corner, waiting for Lin Mo to reappear. When Lin Mo appeared again, he confessed willingly, as if he had seen a savior.

The case at the Angel Sanatorium concluded, and everyone celebrated with a toast. Lin Mo drank a few more glasses and was resting at home when he suddenly heard a police siren outside the door. He opened the window and learned that Lawyer Nanwen, who lived in the same neighborhood, had been killed. He quickly dressed and arrived at the scene. The newly appointed deputy bureau chief, Jun Lang, was analyzing the case at the scene. He initially wanted to show off in front of everyone, but Lin Mo walked over and pointed out his mistake. Jun Lang was so angry that he was about to have someone drive Lin Mo away. Sasha approached him quietly and told him that Lin Mo was a free detective. It would be better to let him help with the investigation. When the case was solved, the credit would still be attributed to him. Jun Lang then allowed Lin Mo to stay.

Nanwen's daughter, Xiao Cha, hid in a cabinet and escaped unharmed. Because she was extremely frightened, when the police asked her about what she saw, she couldn't say anything.

Because Xiao Cha is a key witness and her mother passed away early, and they have no relatives, at Sasha's suggestion, Lin Mo let her temporarily stay at his house. This was done to protect her and to be able to learn about the situation from her at any time.

Sasha took people to check the surveillance cameras but found that they were not working. Lin Mo called Kiko, and Kiko discovered that the surveillance system had been hacked, and they were able to trace the hacker through the IP address. The hacker's name was A Ming. Sasha discovered A Ming had just sent a video to his mother. In the video, a woman named Mandy claimed to be A Ming's girlfriend and was a female anchor.

Lin Mo followed A Ming to his residence and unexpectedly found Mandy living across from him. He talked to Mandy for a while and learned that A Ming often gave her tips but they had never communicated. The video was a request from A Ming to Mandy online. When Sasha arrived, Lin Mo knocked on A Ming's door and asked him why he was involved in Nanwen's murder, but A Ming denied it.

After further investigation, Lin Mo discovered that A Ming had a fellow villager named Ba Se. In their small village, they were the only two college students. After Ba Se was wrongly accused, A Ming did approach Nanwen, but Nanwen refused to take his case because the other party had hired a team of lawyers. Since A Ming approached Nanwen a year ago, Lin Mo felt that even if A Ming wanted to retaliate against Nanwen, it shouldn't have happened a year later.

Shortly after they left A Ming's house, A Ming suddenly turned himself in at the police station and confessed to killing Nanwen. Lin Mo exposed his lie, but he couldn't understand what could be more terrifying than murder that would make A Ming voluntarily turn himself in.
