Episode 7 recap: The Secret of Meditation Club.
When Lin Mo and Sasha rushed over, they saw Aunt Huang swinging on the swing, but Xiaoya quickly noticed something was wrong. Aunt Huang mistook Tuttu for Xiaoya. Xiaoya was about to call for emergency help, but Lin Mo placed his hand on Aunt Huang's nose and realized she was already gone. Next to Aunt Huang, there was a red blessing bag. Lin Mo picked it up and sniffed it, finding that it had a similar scent to the blessing bag discovered by the Nawan family. He took the blessing bag back to the police station and had the forensic examiner analyze it.
The forensic examiner told Lin Mo that the substance in the bag was the same as the anesthetic found in Nawan's stomach, but he asked many colleagues, and no one knew what it was. Upon hearing the forensic examiner's words, Du Lang felt very frustrated. Now the only witness had been silenced, and he felt that this case might become a headless case. But Lin Mo changed the topic and provided him with another clue. When the Nawans were killed, a knife was stabbed into Nawan's heart. Based on the shape of the wound, the murderer should be left-handed, and the weapon used was a single-edged kitchen knife. When the knife was inserted into Nawan's body, it first encountered his ribs. Judging from the force exerted on the ribs, the little finger of the killer may have been injured by the recoil of the handle. Ah Xin from the Meditation Club perfectly matched these characteristics.
After hearing Lin Mo's words, Du Lang was very happy and wanted to arrest Ah Xin directly. However, Lin Mo told him that Ah Xin would not admit it without evidence. In order to obtain evidence, Lin Mo decided to investigate the truth at the Meditation Club. Led by Xiao Cha, Lin Mo arrived at the Meditation Club. Ah Xin and her people were seeing Aunt Huang off, and Lin Mo found her devout prayer to be laughable, as if she had staged this play herself.
After the farewell ceremony, Lin Mo walked up to Ah Xin, pretending to be moved by the play she performed, and voluntarily requested to join the Meditation Club. Ah Xin gladly accepted his request and brought the master's secret teachings to baptize him. The master guided Lin Mo to close his eyes and take deep breaths. He first touched Lin Mo's head and then brought his hand with the ring closer to Lin Mo's nose.
Lin Mo smelled the familiar scent again, and after inhaling the gas, he felt like he had entered a dream. In the dream, he saw scenes from his childhood, filled with loneliness and helplessness.
After returning, Lin Mo revealed his experience of being hallucinated. In order to figure out what exactly the hallucinogen was, he decided to start investigating from Ah Xin's ex-husband.
Ah Xin and her ex-husband were college classmates. They once had a happy family, but later, her ex-husband's infidelity made her feel like a subordinate to a man. In order to retaliate against her ex-husband, she even had an affair with her best friend Namu's husband. After Namu discovered this, she believed that Ah Xin needed to repent and introduced her to the Meditation Club. To her surprise, once Ah Xin joined the Meditation Club, she seemed to fit right in and quickly gained the trust of the master, replacing Namu.
Lin Mo found Ah Xin's ex-husband, A Bao. A Bao smelled the sample Lin Mo brought and asked him curiously where he obtained it. It turned out that this substance was A Bao's research achievement. When Lin Mo mentioned Ah Xin, A Bao suddenly realized and told Lin Mo that this substance was called Dongxiu Keran, also known as the Devil's Breath. A small amount can relieve pain, a moderate amount can cause hallucinations, and an excessive amount can be fatal.
Lin Mo also wanted to learn about Ah Xin's involvement in the Meditation Club, so A Bao suggested that he go find Namu. Lin Mo and Sasha went to Namu's house, where Namu's husband, Kang Song, told them that Namu had gone missing a month ago, and he suspected that she had been killed by members of the Meditation Club. Therefore, when he learned that Nawan had the secret of the Meditation Club, he had intended to buy it at a high price, but Nawan was unexpectedly killed. He expressed his concern that he might be the next target of the Meditation Club.
In order to find evidence of the Meditation Club's crimes, under the cover of night, Lin Mo quietly sneaked into the Meditation Club and unexpectedly saw Ah Xin coming out of the master's room while adjusting her pants.
