Episode 14 recap: Cherie's First Sales Encounter Ends in Fraud

In Episode 14, Cherie noticed Zhou Quan staring intently at Li ZiLiu's back, suspecting he was attracted to the young woman. She pulled Zhou Quan aside to question him, and he complained that she shouldn't have brought someone home so casually and paid Li ZiLiu's salary in advance. Zhou Quan wanted to observe Li ZiLiu further, but Cherie didn't think much of it.

Zhou Quan was busy preparing for his son Zhou Aiven's graduation report, and he officially sent Cherie an invitation.

On the day of the report, the father-son duo were dressed in suits, while Cherie sat in the audience. Zhou Aiven recited the "Three-Character Classic" flawlessly and even awarded Cherie the "Outstanding Mom" prize, which deeply moved her. She was very pleased with Zhou Quan's parenting achievements and held a barbecue to celebrate.  Meanwhile, Li ZiLiu quickly settled in and moved into his new home.

It was a drizzly day in Suzhou, and Cherie's public account recommendation of the Shengduo umbrella became a hit, with sales skyrocketing.

Cherie, Meng Fei, and Li Ziliu were all delighted by the success, hoping the rain would continue for a few more days. On the street, they encountered a couple arguing over lack of an umbrella, and Cherie generously offered them one to resolve the conflict.

Meng Fei wanted to give the commission to Yuan Yi, but Yuan Yi firmly refused. Cherie was eager to play matchmaker between them, but Meng Fei desired freedom, and Yuan Yi had no interest in marriage. Meng Fei wrote an article advocating singlehood, which sparked online backlash.

Cherie comforted her, but Meng Fei saw it as an opportunity to boost the studio's profile, proposing to film a video response. In the video, Meng Fei articulated her anti-marriage stance, sparking heated reactions, as well as more controversy. Yuan Yi discovered quality issues with the umbrellas and accidentally injured Meng Fei during testing. Li Ziiu also found an influx of negative reviews online, realizing the supplier was the problem, which made Meng Fei recognize they had been defrauded.

Cherie decided to be transparent with her fans, publicly apologizing and promising refunds. The compensation amounted to over 200,000 yuan, with Meng Fei insisting on covering half and Cherie wanting to use her article fees. In the end, they shared the burden, and Li Ziiu handled the aftermath.

When Zhou Quan learned of the situation, he encouraged Cherie to face it bravely, believing the fans would understand. Cherie's new book signing event went smoothly, as she patiently answered fans' questions.

Zhou Quan's parenting expertise also became quite popular, with local moms eagerly seeking his advice.

At a dinner party, Meng Fei was absent, so Cherie attended alone. She indulged in desserts and coincidentally ran into her old mentor Lin Qing, who warmly introduced the other guests. The two caught up, and when Cherie mentioned Zhou Quan as a stay-at-home dad, Lin Qing expressed concern about the marital balance, but Cherie remained confident.

Returning home, Cherie found Zhou Quan tutoring Zhou Aiven in math, as he had attended a lecture on pre-primary school admissions and discovered his son's academic deficiencies, so he took it upon himself to address them. The couple complemented each other, with Cherie focused on her studio and Zhou Quan devoted to the family, leading to a harmonious and fulfilling life.
