Episode 33 recap: Yuan Yi Proposes to Meng Fei

In episode 33, Zhou Quan spent a week taking care of Zhou Aiwen for Che Li. Once the week was over, he safely returned Zhou Aiwen home. Che Li's mom, affectionately known as "Che Mu," was heading back to Hainan the next day. To express her gratitude to Zhou Quan, she invited him and Che Li to dinner. During the meal, Che Mu repeatedly emphasized the importance of taking good care of Zhou Aiwen, reassuring them that she could fly back anytime to help if needed.

Meanwhile, Che Li was struggling to find a job. She finally landed a copywriting position and rushed to the interview. The company was located in a rather remote area, with a mixed crowd in the building. The boss, Mr. Luo, was a funny guy who didn't even look at her resume before offering her the job. He explained that he needed someone to write ad copy for manufacturers and online streamers. Mr. Luo bragged about his company's copywriters being from prestigious universities, making Che Li a bit skeptical.

To her surprise, she bumped into her old friend Yu Qiaoqiao, who was also an employee at the company. Mr. Luo asked Yu Qiaoqiao to show Che Li the ropes and introduce her to the products.

Yu Qiaoqiao felt sorry for Che Li, remembering how she used to be a successful online streamer. Now, she was stuck in this small company. Yu Qiaoqiao confided in Che Li that Mr. Luo used to be in the outsourcing business, but his business wasn't doing well, so he switched to hiring copywriters.

Mr. Luo was known for bragging and being cheap. The whole company only had one copywriter, Che Li. When she saw the products, she found them full of flaws and refused to write copy for them. Yu Qiaoqiao advised her not to take it too seriously and to be more grounded.

That evening, Che Li read stories to Zhou Aiwen to put him to sleep. However, they had already gone through all the books in the house, and Zhou Aiwen insisted on Che Li making up new stories, just like Zhou Quan did.

Che Li couldn't come up with anything on the spot, so she promised to buy new books the next day. Zhou Aiwen finally gave in, but Che Li couldn't sleep. Her mind was filled with sweet memories of her time with Zhou Quan, leaving her feeling bittersweet. Eventually, she drifted off to sleep at her desk.

Zhou Quan saw that Che Li was working late again and felt heartbroken. When the weekend arrived, Zhou Quan went to pick up Zhou Aiwen, reminding Che Li to get some rest. Yuan Yi took Zhou Aiwen and Meng Fei camping in the countryside. They had a barbecue and chatted, having a wonderful time.

Meng Fei took good care of Zhou Aiwen, making sure he didn't eat anything cold or spicy. In the evening, Yuan Yi mustered up the courage to propose to Meng Fei. Meng Fei had been waiting for this moment for a long time and was so moved that she cried. Yuan Yi opened the refrigerator, which was filled with ingredients he had prepared for Meng Fei. Meng Fei remembered her empty refrigerator when she was single and felt a warm feeling in her heart.

As for the "仙足乐" copywriting, Yu Qiaoqiao worked overtime to research the product, but Mr. Luo still thought she was slow. In the end, Yu Qiaoqiao wrote a fairy tale story and quickly sent it to Che Li. On the other side, Meng Fei curiously asked Yuan Yi why he was afraid of marriage. Yuan Yi explained about his family situation, and Meng Fei felt even more sympathy for him. Their relationship grew stronger, and even Zhou Aiwen was happy for them.
