Episode 34 recap: Zhou Quan and Che Li Miss Each Other

Yuan Yi wakes up in the morning and sees Meng Fei sleeping in his arms. He's overjoyed, thinking he's dreaming. Meng Fei has agreed to his proposal and he's drafted a prenuptial agreement, meticulously outlining every detail, from cooking and chores to buying diapers. Yuan Yi is eager to marry Meng Fei and agrees to everything.

Zhou Quan leaves work as soon as the clock strikes, rushing to pick up Zhou Aiwen from kindergarten. The manager's secretary stops him, informing him of a problem with the newly launched software. Zhou Quan has to fix it immediately, so he calls Che Li to pick up Zhou Aiwen, leaving instructions for the house key. Che Li picks up Zhou Aiwen and takes him to Zhou Quan's small apartment.

Che Li casually asks Zhou Aiwen about his daily routine with Zhou Quan, and learns that Zhou Quan has told him the whole story of their relationship. Zhou Aiwen reveals that Zhou Quan often stares blankly, and he suspects it's because he misses Che Li. Che Li feels uneasy and doesn't know what to say.

Zhou Quan comes home from work and sees Che Li napping on the couch with Zhou Aiwen. He takes Zhou Aiwen to his room, and Che Li bids farewell to Zhou Quan before leaving.

Yuan Yi brings a big bag of snacks to Zhou Quan and Zhou Aiwen, celebrating his successful proposal to Meng Fei. Zhou Quan is happy for him, but Yuan Yi complains about the long prenuptial agreement Meng Fei wrote, which he had to sign. Zhou Quan tells him about his proposal to Che Li and his plan to quit his job after finishing his current project. He explains that he doesn't have time to take care of Zhou Aiwen, and suggests they start a business together. Yuan Yi is thrilled about the idea.

Che Li has finished writing the copy for the "Fairy Foot" foot odor spray, but her boss is dissatisfied. She has to revise it, but the boss still rejects it and yells at her. Yu Qiaoqiao tries to mediate, promising to revise it again. Che Li holds back her anger, and Yu Qiaoqiao finds an excuse to send her out. Che Li overhears her colleagues gossiping about her, saying many unkind things. She is heartbroken.

Che Li is upset and goes to a restaurant to drown her sorrows. The kindergarten is holding an event tomorrow, requiring all children to wear white shoes. Zhou Aiwen reminds Zhou Quan to bring his white shoes, which are with Che Li.

Lin Qing happens to pass by the restaurant and sees Che Li drinking alone. He comes over to comfort her. Che Li complains about being scolded for the foot odor spray copy. Lin Qing tries to console her, and she invites him to join her for drinks. She orders ten skewers of mutton for him, even though she hates mutton, because Zhou Quan loves it.

Lin Qing is jealous of Zhou Quan and wants to know what makes him so special. Che Li lists all of Zhou Quan's flaws, but Lin Qing doesn't hear complaints, only the sweetness of being burdened. He feels a pang of jealousy.

Zhou Quan puts Zhou Aiwen to sleep and calls Che Li to find Zhou Aiwen's white shoes. Che Li is drunk and unconscious. Lin Qing answers the phone and asks Zhou Quan to pick her up. Zhou Quan calls Yuan Yi to look after Zhou Aiwen and rushes to pick up Che Li.

Zhou Quan is about to take Che Li home, but Lin Qing confronts him. He admits that he has loved Che Li since college, but she only has eyes for Zhou Quan. He assures Zhou Quan that he has no ulterior motives and hopes he will cherish Che Li. Che Li suddenly reaches out and hugs Zhou Quan's neck, mumbling about going home. Seeing this, Lin Qing leaves.

Zhou Quan takes Che Li home, makes her some hangover soup, and leaves a note before leaving. Li Jian puts his baby, Nuomi, to sleep and makes some nourishing soup for Yu Qiaoqiao, urging her to go to bed early. Yu Qiaoqiao is working late on her copy, feeling warm inside.

Che Li wakes up groggily in the morning and sees the note on the table, remembering the night before. She drinks the hangover soup and starts writing her copy.

Shen Xiulan visits Old Zhou and finds his house spotless. Old Zhou is overjoyed and rushes to serve her tea. Shen Xiulan wants to drink milk tea, but Old Zhou doesn't know how to make it. Shen Xiulan makes two cups and gives one to Old Zhou. He invites her to stay for dumplings and rushes out to buy groceries, telling her to wait for him.

Old Zhou cooks several dishes and makes dumplings to treat Shen Xiulan. They enjoy a meal together.
