Episode 36 recap: Cheli and Zhouquan Get Back Together

Zhouquan was putting Zhou Aiwen to bed when he accidentally saw Zhou Aiwen flipping through a growth diary that Cheli had written. It included photos from each of her prenatal checkups. Zhouquan was reminded of their past and felt a pang of regret. He went to the bathroom and cried. Zhou Aiwen, who had been watching from the side, told Cheli about it. Yuan Yi was sleeping in when Mengfei dragged him out of bed and took him to the airport. Yuan Yi was confused, but Mengfei took him home to meet his mother-in-law.

Lao Zhou suddenly video-called Zhouquan. Zhouquan didn't want his father to know about the divorce, so he went to the bathroom to take the call. Lao Zhou asked Cheli to buy some moisturizing skincare products for Shen Xiulan. Zhouquan readily agreed. Mengfei and Yuan Yi went home to meet his mother-in-law. She really liked Mengfei and asked her lots of questions. She even got a new blanket ready for Mengfei. Yuan Yi saw the big closet and remembered hiding in it after being beaten as a child. His mother wanted to throw it away so he wouldn't be reminded of the past, but Yuan Yi had moved on and asked her to keep it as a memento. Mengfei invited her to come live with them in Suzhou, and she readily agreed.

Cheli bought some "Cloud Candy" for Zhou Aiwen. As she listened to the candy play the stories Zhouquan had read, she felt a mix of emotions. Zhouquan had been working overtime to collect new stories and was exhausted. He got sick and couldn't get out of bed. Zhou Aiwen called Cheli for help, and she immediately went to take care of him. Zhouquan was running a high fever. Cheli fed him medicine and food. She wanted to take Zhou Aiwen back home, but he was worried about Zhouquan, and Zhouquan asked them to stay.

Cheli took good care of Zhouquan, and his condition gradually improved. She sent Zhou Aiwen to kindergarten and left a note for Zhouquan before leaving. He was touched and took a picture of the note. Lao Zhou and Shen Xiulan suddenly visited Zhouquan. They blamed him for divorcing Cheli. Zhouquan tried to explain, but they refused to listen.

Cheli dug out all of Zhou Aiwen's baby clothes and gave them to Mengfei. She kept a few girl's clothes as a reminder. They were clothes that Zhouquan had bought for his daughter, but Cheli had had a son. Thinking about those days, Cheli couldn't stop talking about Zhouquan.
