Episode 4 recap: Zhou Quan Becomes a Stay-at-Home Dad

In this episode, Meng Fei is forced by her mother to go on a blind date, where she ends up meeting Yuan Yi, who has also been dragged there against his will. The two immediately clash, like two fighting roosters, neither willing to back down. Coincidentally, Zhou Quan and Che Li are also dining at the same restaurant, and the four end up seated at the same table.

Che Li casually mentions that Meng Fei doesn't want to get married, and Yuan Yi chimes in that he has no plans for marriage either. This sets off a heated argument between the two, with them firing barbs back and forth. Zhou Quan tries desperately to interject, extolling the virtues of marriage, but the pair pay him no mind and find him annoying.

After the meal, Che Li and Zhou Quan head home, leaving Meng Fei and Yuan Yi to drown their sorrows at a bar. The two seem intent on venting their frustrations. Back at home, Zhou Quan tries to give Zhou Aiwen a bath, but the child complains that Zhou Quan is too rough, and ends up crying for Che Li's help. Zhou Quan is left feeling frustrated and inadequate.

Che Li comforts him, explaining that caring for a child requires a delicate touch, not brute force. Meanwhile, Meng Fei and Yuan Yi continue their drinking binge, moving from the bar to a street vendor, where they lament the bizarre people they've been set up with. Meng Fei gets increasingly inebriated, even breaking into song and dance in the middle of the street, completely uncaring of her public image.

The next morning, Meng Fei and Yuan Yi wake up together on a hotel sofa, with no memory of how they ended up there. Meng Fei quickly tells Yuan Yi to keep quiet, then rushes home, forgetting her lipstick in the hotel. Yuan Yi is left to collect it, feeling a mix of emotions.

Back at home, Zhou Quan tries to make dumplings for breakfast but accidentally turns them into porridge. However, Che Li encourages him to keep trying, rather than criticizing him. Meng Fei, meanwhile, sneaks back home, only to be grilled by her parents, forcing her to make up a story to cover for her night out.
