Episode 12 recap: Mu Xing Chen unexpectedly defeats Yinling Valley's Gu Zhu.
Jiang Bu Ying and Yao Guang set out to find Huo Xing Chen and Jiang Bu Ting. In the forest, they encounter Xiao Yu, and the three of them cook together. Yao Guang is impressed by Jiang Bu Ying's cooking skills and develops a fondness for him, but Jiang Bu Ying doesn't realize she is a woman and simply treats her as a good friend. Mu Xing Chen and Jiang Bu Ting finally manage to shake off the black-clad individuals but discover that Yin Feng Mian is missing. Later, they hear from a black-clad person at the entrance of Yinling Valley that Yin Feng Mian has been captured by Hou Qiong and taken into a cave. The two of them secretly infiltrate the cave.
Inside the cave, they encounter numerous mutants. They follow the mutants into a prison cell, where these mutants intend to attack Mu Xing Chen and Jiang Bu Ting. Mu Xing Chen takes out a pouch of medicine and disperses the mutants. She had obtained the pouch when she was being chased by the black-clad individuals.
Just as Mu Xing Chen and Jiang Bu Ting find Yin Feng Mian, they see several black-clad individuals conducting an inspection. Disguising themselves as mutants, they manage to pass the inspection. Later, two black-clad individuals enter the prison cell with an elderly man. Jiang Bu Ting immediately recognizes the elderly man as his master, Song Shen Yi. He defeats the black-clad individuals and rescues his master. The reunion between master and disciple is filled with joy. Song Shen Yi tells his disciple that he had been confined in a small dark room, tirelessly concocting medicine day and night, and today he finally sees the light of day again.
Jiang Bu Ting leaves Yinling Valley with his master, and Jiang Bu Ying and Yao Guang arrive shortly after. The Five Mountains Sect receives news that there are a large number of mutants in Yinling Valley, prompting Huo Qing Liu to lead his people there. Yin Feng Mian is the one who delivered the message. Upon learning that the Five Mountains Sect is approaching, Yinling Valley's Gu Zhu realizes that the defensive formation in the rear mountains has been breached and orders his men to activate the mountain-closing formation.
Mu Xing Chen told Song Divine Physician that when she turned into an anomaly, it was because she had eaten Jiang Bu Ting's little red pill that she was cured. Song Divine Physician believed that a normal person turning into an anomaly would undoubtedly result in death, and the little red pill couldn't possibly have such an effect. He examined Mu Xing Chen's pulse and found that her physical condition was indeed normal, but he still didn't believe that the little red pill had cured her. Instead, he suspected that she had a special constitution and wanted to study Mu Xing Chen's aptitude.
When Mu Xing Chen saw that Song Divine Physician was about to touch her, she quickly dodged. At this moment, Huo Qing Liu arrived with his men, and the father and daughter were both excited to see each other. Mu Bing He saw his sister dressed as a man and was about to scold her when Yao Guang was frightened and quickly hid aside. Mu Xing Chen told her father the process of how she and Jiang Bu Ting rescued Song Divine Physician and the others. Mu Qing Liu was both proud of his daughter and worried for her, but Mu Xing Chen told him that she would become the leader of the Five Mountains Sect in the future, and the current danger was trivial to her. Mu Bing He approached and told Mu Xing Chen that Yao Guang was his sister, and he hoped that in the future, she would not take such risks and face any problems together. However, Mu Xing Chen refused and was somewhat cold towards him.
Mu Qing Liu led his subordinates to attack the Hidden Spirit Valley but was blocked by the Closed Mountain Formation at the entrance. Yin Feng Mian volunteered to help them break the formation. After breaking the formation, Yin Feng Mian followed the Five Mountains Sect and stormed in. When he saw Hou Qiong leading people to resist, he volunteered to handle Hou Qiong while the others went to find Gu Zhu. Mu Xing Chen and Jiang Bu Ting arrived at an apothecary where many black pills were stored. Those pills were made by Gu Zhu to control the people in black. Mu Xing Chen knew that Gu Zhu was no longer the same as before and was very worried about her father's safety.
Mu Qing Liu and the others found Gu Zhu. Gu Zhu questioned him about the unjust act of attacking the Hidden Spirit Valley, and Mu Qing Liu told him that the Hidden Spirit Valley was suspected of being involved in the anomaly case, and he had the obligation to find out the truth and bring peace to the martial arts world. Seeing Huo Qing Liu's aggressive approach, Gu Zhu started playing the qin, and the music attracted many anomalies. Mu Qing Liu ordered his men to try not to harm the anomalies and focus on control.
While Mu Qing Liu was fighting the anomalies, Mu Xing Chen descended from the sky and cut the qin strings with a sword. The music stopped, and all the anomalies froze in place. However, Gu Zhu suddenly activated a mechanism, causing Mu Xing Chen to fall into the alchemy furnace. Seeing that everyone wanted to save Mu Xing Chen, Gu Zhu told them that anyone who fell into the alchemy furnace would never come out alive.
Mu Qing Liu and Jiang Bu Ting fought fiercely against Gu Zhu, but even their combined strength was no match for him. Just then, there was a sudden explosion from the alchemy furnace. After the explosion, Mu Xing Chen slowly rose from the furnace. She had consumed the Yidu Pill, which was formed from the convergence of the internal energy of countless martial artists. Her internal energy greatly increased, and with just a few moves, she knocked out Gu Zhu.
To be honest, the plot of this drama is really average, but for some reason, it's inexplicably hilarious, and there's a certain addictive quality to it. The dialogue, the actors' performances, and even the various accents all contribute to making it irresistible. It's hard to stop watching, except for the fact that the costumes in this show are really lacking and disappointing in terms of quantity.
