Episode 18 recap: Huo Xing Chen and Mu Bing He entered the dream world.
Yao Guang and Jiang Bu Ying were together, but they felt a presence around them. While Yao Guang claimed not to be afraid, her body started trembling. Jiang Bu Ying's situation was slightly better, but when they suddenly encountered a strange person wearing a white mask, both of them couldn't help but scream in fear.
Jiang Bu Ting chased after a masked person, telling them to stop pretending to be supernatural. The masked person was cornered, and when Jiang Bu Ting used his sword to remove the mask from their face, he was astonished to discover that it was Chen Ji. It began with their wedding night, but as they raised their cups to drink, Huo Xing Chen seemed to realize that Mu Bing He wasn't the person she wanted to marry. However, Mu Bing He told her that this was the life she desired. She had always wanted to marry the hero, and now her wish had finally come true. Huo Xing Chen vaguely remembered that her dream was to roam the jianghu (martial arts world). At that moment, she felt a headache and almost woke up from the dream. But Mu Bing He told her to sleep, assuring her that everything would be fine when she woke up.
In the second scene of Huo Xing Chen and Mu Bing He's dream, someone kidnapped Huo Xing Chen and forced Mu Bing He to hand over the Divine Martial Order. Seeing that Mu Bing He was truly going to make the exchange with the kidnappers, Huo Xing Chen couldn't help but question how the leader of the Wuyue Sect could disregard the fate of the jianghu for the sake of one woman. In Huo Xing Chen's dream, she was living a happy life as the wife of the sect leader with Mu Bing He. Suddenly, the masked woman in red appeared before her. Feeling puzzled and about to struggle awake from the dream, Mu Bing He suddenly covered her mouth, causing her to faint once again.
Another day passed, and in order to wake Huo Xing Chen up, Jiang Bu Ting decided to enter her dream. Upon entering Huo Xing Chen's dream, Jiang Bu Ting became a stablehand in Huo Xing Chen's household. He discovered that Huo Xing Chen was already pregnant with their second child and no longer recognized him.
Just as he managed to awaken Huo Xing Chen, Mu Bing He killed him. On the second attempt, he decided to be stealthy and waited for a moment when Mu Bing He was absent to make contact with Huo Xing Chen. He intentionally insulted Huo Xing Chen, calling her a despicable woman, and mentioned their previous interactions using specific keywords. As expected, these triggered Huo Xing Chen's memories of him.
