Episode 7 recap: Jiang Bu Ting cured Huo Xing Chen
In the following days, Huo Xing Chen frequently fell ill, and her condition worsened each time. To avoid being discovered, Jiang Bu Ting dared not bring her back to the city. Instead, he searched for herbs in the forest and attempted to treat her, but with no success. Later, when Huo Xing Chen had an episode, she started biting him. To protect himself, Jiang Bu Ting wore an extra layer of protective armor, but it was still not enough. Huo Xing Chen grabbed his hand and bit his fingers, causing an injury.
Huo Xing Chen was in a bad mood, and Jiang Bu Ting remembered a poem she had once recited. He gathered some wildflowers and arranged them on a well-made wooden raft. He pointed to the moon above and invited Huo Xing Chen to appreciate the scene. Seeing the picturesque setting of flowers and moonlight, Huo Xing Chen's mood indeed improved significantly.
Jiang Bu Ting took Huo Xing Chen onto the bamboo raft, intending to drift freely with her amidst the mountains and rivers, staying together for the rest of their lives. When Huo Xing Chen heard that Jiang Bu Ting wanted to accompany her in death, although she had longed for such a beautiful love, she did not want to die at that moment. After lying down on the bamboo raft, she told Jiang Bu Ting that she was afraid of death but felt much better with him by her side. They made a pact that if there was a next life, they would venture through the world together.
After Huo Xing Chen fell asleep, Jiang Bu Ting untied the rope that bound the bamboo raft. The raft drifted along the river for the entire night. The next morning, when Jiang Bu Ting woke up, he found Huo Xing Chen still in a deep sleep, while he himself was unharmed. He pondered why he didn't turn into an "unusual person" despite being bitten by Huo Xing Chen. Suddenly, he noticed that the bamboo raft was approaching a waterfall. He urgently turned the raft around and involuntarily shouted for help. Jiang Bu Ting helped Huo Xing Chen climb ashore, and he realized that the reason he didn't transform into an "unusual person" was likely because he had consumed a medicine given to him by his master. He still had one pill left, so he took it out and gave it to Huo Xing Chen to consume. Huo Xing Chen woke up suddenly and bit his hand once again.
Jiang Bu Ting gave the medicine to Huo Xing Chen, and his guess was correct. After taking the medicine, Huo Xing Chen indeed transformed into a normal person. As she watched the strange patterns on her skin disappear, Huo Xing Chen felt extremely happy. She was about to thank Jiang Bu Ting for saving her life when she noticed that Jiang Bu Ting had fainted. No matter how much she called out to him, he wouldn't wake up. Helpless, Huo Xing Chen sent a message using carrier pigeons to summon Jiang Bu Ying.
Upon receiving Huo Xing Chen's message, Jiang Bu Ying quickly arrived and brought Jiang Bu Ting to their master, Doctor Song. Although Doctor Song was not present, he had a variety of herbs there. Jiang Bu Ying didn't know how to treat Jiang Bu Ting, so he sent a message to their mother. Jiang Bu's mother hurriedly arrived and gave Jiang Bu Ting a pill, temporarily reviving him.
Upon learning that Jiang Bu Ting had awakened, Huo Xing Chen ran over to see him and burst into tears with excitement. Seeing this scene, Jiang Bu's mother signaled Jiang Bu Ying to quietly leave with her. Jiang Bu Ting wiped away Huo Xing Chen's tears and told her the story of his childhood. When Jiang Bu Ting was young, he was very weak, and in order to treat him, their master researched many treatment methods and prescribed various medicines. Each time, he would try them himself before letting Jiang Bu Ting consume them. Jiang Bu Ting told Huo Xing Chen that if it weren't for their master, he wouldn't have lived past one year old.
Huo Xing Chen initially thought that they would be able to find the formula for the medicine to treat extraordinary individuals at Doctor Song's place. However, Jiang Bu Ting searched through their master's medicine room and only found records of his own medicine trials, but not the formula Huo Xing Chen was looking for. After being away from home for so long and experiencing a near-death situation this time, Huo Xing Chen missed her father a little and decided to go back home to see him. It was also an opportunity to research and find a solution to treat extraordinary individuals. In order to give Jiang Bu Ting an explanation, she decided to take him back home with her.
Upon hearing Huo Xing Chen's invitation, Jiang Bu Ting readily agreed. Jiang Bu Ying thought that his brother wanted to go to Huo Xing Chen's home to become a son-in-law, but Jiang Bu Ting told him that Huo Xing Chen had barely escaped death and he didn't want her to be in danger again. His purpose in this trip was solely to ensure her safe return home. However, Jiang Bu Ying interpreted his brother's words as being insincere.
