Episode 15 recap: Mu Bai Rejects Lin Yan
Shi Chu learns about the collaboration between Wen Lan and Mu Bai and believes it's only temporary, and the final outcome remains uncertain. When Mu Bai discusses the solutions they previously provided with Li Mingxuan, none of them prove to be useful.Li Mingxuan suggests that Mu Bai is trying to gain sympathy from Wen Lan since she must have some sympathy for him due to his injuries. When Wen Lan comes to see Mu Bai, he should pretend to be in pain everywhere, which will surely soften her heart. Mu Bai finds this reasoning reasonable.
Wen Lan comes to visit Mu Bai, and he deliberately acts very uncomfortable, hoping to win her sympathy. However, to his surprise, Lin Yan also shows up with something in hand, saying that she knows Mu Bai is injured and needs some nourishment. Wen Lan, upon seeing that Mu Bai is being taken care of, decides to leave, stating that she doesn't need to stay there anymore, and walks away.
Mu Bai hurries to catch up with her, but Lin Yan stops him, not understanding what she lacks compared to Wen Lan. Mu Bai explains that he has always treated Lin Yan like a sister and doesn't have those kinds of feelings for her. Lin Yan points out that Mu Bai and Wen Lan are already divorced, to which Mu Bai responds that's why he is now trying to win Wen Lan back.
Zhuang Wencheng is chased by debt collectors and suddenly spits blood, ending up in the hospital. The doctor discovers a tumor in his lungs and recommends surgery. Zhuang Wencheng calls Zhuang Rou, but she immediately hangs up the phone.
