Episode 17 recap: Mu Bai Reconciles with Wen Lan
Shi Chu points out that Mu Bai and Wen Lan spend a lot of time together, so how can he guarantee that Wen Lan won't develop feelings for him? Upon hearing this, Shi Chu also becomes hesitant. Mu Bai presents a ring to Wen Lan, but she says she needs some time to consider. Mu Bai asks if Wen Lan is dissatisfied with today's arrangements, but she assures him that she is happy today.
Wen Lan explains that these things are not what she wants; what she needs is a sense of security. She tells Mu Bai that when he understands that, he can come find her. After returning home, Mu Bai asks Li Mingxuan for advice but doesn't know how to provide Wen Lan with a sense of security. Li Mingxuan advises him not to only think about himself and to consider Wen Lan's feelings more.
Wen Lan's birthday is approaching, and Shi Chu invites Dr. Huo to celebrate together. Wen Lan reluctantly agrees. Shi Chu originally had something to say to Wen Lan, but she receives a phone call informing her of an urgent matter, so she tells them to enjoy themselves and leaves.
Mu Bai comes to find Wen Lan and has made a cake for her. Zhuang Wencheng also gives him a necklace left behind by Wen Lan's mother to give to her. Mu Bai leaves first, and after Wen Lan returns home, she hesitates for a moment and then goes back to find Mu Bai. Wen Lan asks Mu Bai to put the necklace on her, and he does so. Both of them look at each other with excitement and tightly embrace each other.
