Episode 19 recap: Zhuang Wencheng's Serious Illness
Mu Bai received the news and hurried over, where he met Shi Chu and learned that the experiment had failed. Mu Bai also met Wen Lan, who confirmed the failure of the experiment. Mu Bai comforted Wen Lan and received a phone call from the hospital, informing him that something had happened to Zhuang Wencheng.
Wen Lan and Mu Bai rushed to the hospital and found a letter written by Zhuang Wencheng for Wen Lan. Zhuang Wencheng confessed that his previous pride had prevented him from accepting that Wen Lan's mother was superior to him in research, which led him to make mistakes and destroy the research achievements of Wen Lan's mother and uncle, causing them to overwork. Zhuang Wencheng felt that although he wasn't directly responsible for Wen Lan's mother's death, he was still involved. He expressed his apology to Wen Lan and didn't dare to expect her forgiveness, but only wished for her to live a good life.
Wen Lan was deeply saddened after reading the letter. While she had previously harbored hatred towards Zhuang Wencheng, now that she realized he was dying, she felt a great sadness. The doctor informed Wen Lan that Zhuang Wencheng had been saved, which made her very happy.
Shi Chu encountered Shi Xun and expressed disappointment in Shi Chu for helplessly watching Mu Bai and Wen Lan reconcile. Shi Chu responded that he had done everything he could and would no longer assist Shi Xun. Shi Xun stated that their company had invested five years into this project and he would not allow it to fail under any circumstances.
