Episode 34 recap: Mu Zhuo Hua confronts Princess Rou Jia Gong Zhu.
Mu Zhuo Hua expresses that at first, he thought they could walk the same path, then he thought they would at least reach the same destination, but now he realizes they have long been going in opposite directions. Mu Zhuo Hua says he is not sick, just dealing with some minor issues. The Old Master Mo claims that although he is affectionate, every woman he had been with was given a status, whereas Mu Zhuo Hua did not even give one.
Shen Jing Hong learns about these matters and comes to find Princess Rou Jia Gong Zhu. Princess Rou Jia Gong Zhu believes she hasn't done anything wrong and that it was Sun Yun Qian who brought about her own demise. Shen Jing Hong asks Princess Rou Jia Gong Zhu if she still remembers her original intentions, to which Princess Rou Jia Gong Zhu responds that she absolutely does and that she aims to ascend to the highest position.
Mu Zhuo Hua also learns about Sun Yun Qian's suicide and is greatly shocked. Liu Yan comes to find Princess Rou Jia Gong Zhu, hoping she will stop. Princess Rou Jia Gong Zhu claims she doesn't know what Liu Yan is talking about, but Liu Yan says that before the emperor's death, his wish was for them to live as harmonious siblings. Since he passed the throne to Liu Chen, she must protect it with her life.
Mu Zhuo Hua arranges a meeting with Shen Jing Hong, expressing how they once took the imperial examination together and never expected things to turn out like this. Mu Zhuo Hua observes that Shen Jing Hong's evident anguish shows that he also didn't anticipate things to end up this way; it was the doing of the people behind him.

Princess Rou Jia Gong Zhu also arrives and reminds Ye Mu Zhen not to play too recklessly, as her emperor brother is still waiting for her.
Princess Rou Jia Gong Zhu comes to take care of Shen Jing Hong, who doesn't want to take the medicine. The maid next to them is unhappy and mentions that the medicine was personally prepared by Princess Rou Jia Gong Zhu.
While talking to Liu Chen, Mu Zhuo Hua becomes absent-minded. Liu Chen asks Mu Zhuo Hua what's wrong and if he's sick, suggesting that someone should call the imperial physician. Mu Zhuo Hua quickly stops him, stating that he is not sick, just dealing with some minor issues.

Zhen Guo Da Chang Gong Zhu wants to return to Jiangnan, but Shi Yi wants him to stay so that she can fulfill her filial duties properly. Zhen Guo Da Chang Gong Zhu says he has already grown accustomed to Jiangnan. Zhen Guo Da Chang Gong Zhu thinks that Liu Chen should also get married and asks if he has someone in his heart. Liu Chen hastily denies it.
Princess Rou Jia Gong Zhu comes to see Zhen Guo Da Chang Gong Zhu and talks about her desire for the evil sword. Zhen Guo Da Chang Gong Zhu now understands Rou Jia Gong Zhu's ambition and says he cannot give her the sword. He hopes she won't go down this path and suggests returning to Jiangnan together to live a good life.
Rou Jia Gong Zhu refuses, stating that she is capable and not inferior to Liu Chen. She is determined to be a wise ruler. Rou Jia Gong Zhu pours a cup of tea for Zhen Guo Da Chang Gong Zhu and adds some medicine to it.
Rou Jia Gong Zhu explains that it's just a sleeping potion and she won't truly harm Zhen Guo Da Chang Gong Zhu. The Mu family's master and madam are going back. The master sees Liu Yan from a distance and says that although he is affectionate, every woman he has been with was given a status, unlike Mu Zhuo Hua, who didn't give her any status.
The madam says that Mu Zhuo Hua is an ambitious person, and they can't help him, but they won't hold him back either. Princess Rou Jia Gong Zhu comes to see Zhen Guo Da Chang Gong Zhu, who urges her not to persist in her mistakes.
