Episode 33 recap: The Release of Feihang by Jin Lao

In a heart-stopping moment, Boliao and the Zombie Sparrow forcibly abduct Feihang, disregarding the surrounding guns aimed at them. Lu Zhengyang, a brave man, chooses to stay behind, facing the imminent threat of an explosion. He is haunted by thoughts of Boliao’s treasured painting, which, despite Boliao's coldness towards humanity, he cherishes deeply.

After careful consideration, Lu Zhengyang decisively cuts the critical blue wire, successfully neutralizing the bomb threat. He then speeds away, driven by a singular thought: to rescue Feihang. However, Xu Wei, driving a truck recklessly, engages Lu Zhengyang in a thrilling chase and gunfight through the streets. Xu Wei cleverly uses a collapsed bamboo structure as a barrier, forcing Lin Shaobai to slam on the brakes, leading to a temporary standoff.

Meanwhile, Feihang’s world is turned upside down. She is shocked to discover that her respected teacher, Zheng, is the mastermind behind the chaos, transforming her feelings of respect into deep disdain and hatred. Boliao's vehicle is abandoned by the lakeside, and when Lu Zhengyang and Lin Shaobai arrive, they find the car empty and bloodless, giving them a momentary sense of relief that Feihang may not have been harmed.

Feihang escapes back to the Lin family home. When her grandmother questions her, she chooses silence, tears welling up in her eyes as she retreats to her room to cry in solitude. Her anxious grandmothers quickly contact Lin Shaobai and Old Lu. Upon returning home, neither man realizes that Feihang has learned the truth about her parents’ deaths and Lu Zhengyang's involvement, creating an unbridgeable gap between them.

Confronted by Feihang's questions, Lu Zhengyang struggles to reveal the whole truth. Meanwhile, Lin Shaobai believes that despite her youth, Feihang possesses remarkable resilience and courage, and she deserves to know the truth. He gently guides her, gradually unveiling the events of that day, helping to ease her doubts and resentment.

On another front, Jin Lao and Xu Wei engage in a complex negotiation. Jin Lao proposes that if Xu Wei can persuade Boliao to relinquish a ship heading to Hong Kong, he will help Xu Wei reunite with Zhao Lan and their child, promising a generous reward. Xu Wei, moved by thoughts of Zhao Lan, ultimately accepts Jin Lao's offer and leaves with a heavy suitcase full of cash.

After learning the truth, Feihang chooses to heal herself. She quietly leaves the hospital and sits in the sunlight at the Fuzhou Road villa, painting her inner world. When Lu Zhengyang finds her, Feihang expresses her deep dependency and love for Old Lu, calling him “Dad.” This moment brings tears to Old Lu's eyes. Nearby, Lin Shaobai watches, filled with warmth and comfort.

Following Jin Lao's instructions, Xu Wei conveys a message to Boliao but omits details regarding Zhao Lan and the child, raising Boliao's suspicion. Meanwhile, Lin Shaobai and his team conduct investigations, pinpointing a third-party force: A Kui, a dangerous individual who has recruited numerous assassins, signaling an impending storm that will be even more intense.
