Episode 2 recap: An Qiu joins the Mingmou Institute. Android Falls in Love with Female Artist.

It was actually the android who killed Chen Xin Hui, and Fang Yuan confessed to the crime because he didn't want to lose another mother. Fang Yuan also told Cheng Nuo and others that Chen Xin Hui would meet someone in the Forest Park. They rushed to the park only to find the android Chen Xin Hui tied up there. Shen Li went to rescue her but was attacked by a masked person and a fire was set to destroy the scene.

An Qiu and Cheng Nuo arrived, but Cheng Nuo didn't rush to save anyone. Instead, he chased after the masked person fleeing. Shen Li was taken to the hospital but had not yet regained consciousness due to excessive smoke inhalation. An Qiu blamed Cheng Nuo for not prioritizing the rescue, but Cheng Nuo believed he did nothing wrong.

Seeing the cold-heartedness of Fang Yuan, An Qiu decided to join the Mingmou Institute. She dialed the phone number of the institute's personnel department. An Qiu was undergoing tests at Mingmou, and she had a strange dream. Director Wan started telling a story to the applicants. It was about a man whose son was an android. The man was too busy with work that he couldn't even make it back for his son's birth.

In truth, the son had died shortly after birth, and to cover up her guilt, the wife bought an android to replace their child. It was only last week when they went out and got into an accident that the truth was discovered. Director Wan said that all the applicants were outstanding candidates after the first round of tests, and now the goal was to make the man understand the whole situation without causing too much distress.

One by one, the applicants went in to have a conversation with the man, but none succeeded. An Qiu was the last one to go in, and with her patient persuasion, the man seemed to be moved. He accepted the truth calmly. Director Fang admired An Qiu's approach and thought she performed exceptionally well that day.

An Qiu said she was just trying to see things from his perspective. Director Fang said her words were inspiring and welcomed An Qiu to join the Mingmou Institute. Director Fang introduced An Qiu to Cheng Nuo and told him that An Qiu would be his new partner. An Qiu pointed out that there were many suspicious points in the Chen Xin Hui case. The killer left ritualistic markings at the crime scene, indicating that they would take further action and potentially kill again.

Cheng Nuo showed a hostile attitude towards An Qiu and impatiently handed her a stack of files, instructing her to investigate the case on her own.

An Qiu went to a bar and heard the bar owner singing and playing the guitar. She noticed a sculpture in the bar and recognized it as the work of her favorite artist, Jin Yan. She asked the owner and found out that Jin Yan was also one of the shareholders of the bar.

A man was bothering a young woman, and Cheng Nuo intervened to help her. An Qiu was studying Jin Yan's artwork and remembered the ring on the bar owner's hand. An Qiu attended Jin Yan's art exhibition and had an early viewing guided by the staff.

There, she met Guan Xu, Jin Yan's husband, who turned out to be the owner of the bar. An Qiu also learned that Guan Xu and Jin Yan's relationship was not as good as it seemed. Cheng Nuo came to have coffee and unexpectedly encountered the woman he had seen yesterday, who turned out to be Jin Yan. Seeing her drinking one glass after another, Cheng Nuo asked her why she didn't divorce if she hated her husband so much. Jin Yan didn't want to say much and kept drinking until she got drunk, and Cheng Nuo escorted her home.

An Qiu returned to the bar and saw Guan Xu being friendly with her. They drank together, and An Qiu asked about his relationship with Jin Yan, but Guan Xu clearly didn't want to say much. Suddenly, his phone rang, and An Qiu saw a video on his phone.

Surprisingly, Cheng Nuo was in the video. Guan Xu hastily excused himself and took a taxi back home, while An Qiu quickly sent a text message to Cheng Nuo. Meanwhile, Cheng Nuo deliberately took off his shirt and got intimate with Jin Yan, just as Guan Xu walked in. He calmly watched everything, and Cheng Nuo became even more certain that Guan Xu was the android.

Cheng Nuo asked where the real Guan Xu was, and Jin Yan appeared panicked and urged Cheng Nuo and An Qiu to leave. An Qiu hurriedly pulled Cheng Nuo out of Jin Yan's house. Once outside, Cheng Nuo called Gu Du, the head of the Public Security Bureau, and asked them to come and arrest the suspects.

Jin Yan and Guan Xu had already started packing their belongings, preparing to leave overnight. Cheng Nuo had suspected Guan Xu for a while. To stop them from escaping, Cheng Nuo and An Qiu climbed over the wall and entered Jin Yan's house. The police arrived and took Jin Yan and Guan Xu into custody. It was determined that the real Guan Xu had been physically abusive to Jin Yan and she accidentally killed him in self-defense. She then bought an identical android to replace him, and they lived together for two years.

Guan Xu took the blame for everything to protect Jin Yan. Jin Yan visited him in prison and thanked the android for everything he had done for her. However, she confessed to the truth, and the android was recalled. An Qiu went to the hospital to visit Shen Li, who had already awakened. He praised An Qiu for solving such a complex case shortly after joining the Mingmou Institute.

Later, Cheng Nuo took An Qiu to Lao Jie (Old Street) based on the clues, as it was the place where the transactions for buying and selling androids took place.
