Episode 17 recap: Princess Chang Ping Develops Feelings for Sha Ping Wei

Yuan Bu Qu also asked Sha Ping Wei to come and find him. On the way, Princess Chang Ping happened to encounter a bride who was crying. It turned out that she was upset because she didn't want to marry the person she liked. Princess Chang Ping initially wanted to interfere but ended up being scolded. She lost her balance and nearly stumbled, but Sha Ping Wei happened to be there to catch her. The bride even thanked Princess Chang Ping, but she had accepted her own fate.

Sha Ping Wei was busy with his own matters and had to leave. Princess Chang Ping developed a favorable impression of Sha Ping Wei, but she didn't know his name. However, his image remained deeply engraved in Princess Chang Ping's heart. As Princess Chang Ping continued on her journey, she suddenly saw a county official causing trouble and forcibly taking away people's daughters. Princess Chang Ping wanted to intervene, but the official didn't pay any attention to her. He even had an interest in Princess Chang Ping. Fortunately, they quickly presented the imperial decree, and upon learning Princess Chang Ping's identity, the official promptly apologized. Princess Chang Ping then punished the county official severely.

Liu Ruo Qian was waiting at the door to greet Princess Chang Ping. Later, the eunuch informed Liu Ruo Qian of their identities and entrusted him with the task of protecting the princess in the future. Liu Ruo Qian agreed. Princess Chang Ping, who had dressed up nicely, was preparing to go out when she was stopped by the guards at the door. Princess Chang Ping was very angry and could only return to her room. The eunuch, upon learning that Princess Chang Ping was unhappy, went over to inquire. Princess Chang Ping had initially planned to have fun during this outing, but the eunuch's task was to take her to meet the new husband, Yuan Bu Qu. However, the princess was only thinking about having fun, so her words were perfunctory.

Chang Ping Gong Zhu arrived at Yuan Bu Qu's residence, and Liu Ruo Qian led her on a tour. She happened to see Sha Ping Wei training soldiers, and she thought Sha Ping Wei was Yuan Bu Qu. She felt a little happy, but when Liu Ruo Qian told her otherwise, Chang Ping Gong Zhu felt disappointed. Chang Ping Gong Zhu watched Sha Ping Wei train the soldiers with great interest, and it took Liu Ruo Qian calling her for a while to snap out of it. Liu Ruo Qian arranged for Chang Ping Gong Zhu to wait in a room, and she was curious about everything in the room, but she saw Yuan Bu Qu instead. Yuan Bu Qu intentionally grew a long beard and kept bowing to two deceased wives, which frightened Chang Ping Gong Zhu and made her too scared to speak.

Liu Ruo Qian came in and informed Chang Ping Gong Zhu that Yuan Bu Qu was mourning his deceased wives. This scared Chang Ping Gong Zhu, and she ran away, crying and telling her father-in-law not to let her marry Yuan Bu Qu because she loved Sha Ping Wei, the young general she had seen. Yuan Bu Qu's plan this time was thanks to Du Bing Yan, but on the other hand, Chang Ping Gong Zhu was even more unwilling to marry him. However, this couldn't be considered as deceiving the emperor since Du Bing Yan was very cunning.

Chang Ping Gong Zhu now wanted to go out and play, and Liu Ruo Qian planned to help her, or else she would continue to pester Yuan Bu Qu. The next day, when Chang Ping Gong Zhu was about to go to the mountain to draw lots, Liu Ruo Qian also called for Sha Ping Wei. Liu Ruo Qian deliberately said that he had foreseen that if Sha Ping Wei continued to follow Yuan Bu Qu, great calamity would befall him. But now, great fortune was coming his way. Liu Ruo Qian intentionally guided Sha Ping Wei and Chang Ping Gong Zhu, hoping to create an opportunity for them.

On the way back, Liu Ruo Qian picked some wildflowers to give to his wife. She was delighted to see the wildflowers. The next step was to see if the Princess would willingly refuse to marry Yuan Bu Qu, which would depend on how smoothly things went the next day. Liu Ruo Qian had created an opportunity, and now he would wait to see what happened the next day, and he also asked his wife for help.

The next morning, following Liu Ruo Qian's guidance, Sha Ping Wei and Chang Ping Gong Zhu waited for their meeting. When they reached halfway up the mountain, Liu Ruo Qian suggested that Chang Ping Gong Zhu rest for a while. Naturally, she insisted on going because she was curious. So she went off to play on her own.
