Episode 18 recap: Sha Ping Wei and Princess Chang Ping Fall in Love

Princess Chang Ping encountered Zhong Dang Niang, who was disguised as a man. Zhong Dang Niang pretended to be a Taoist and claimed that only those with auspiciousness could see the blessings. She deliberately calculated Princess Chang Ping's fate and mentioned that her destined husband should not be in his current position, and that Ling Mountain could wash away her misfortune.

Sha Ping Wei and Princess Chang Ping both learned about the meeting place they were supposed to see each other. They followed the instructions of Liu Ruo Qian and Madam and coincidentally arrived at the Bixia Shrine. Princess Chang Ping was determined to find her ideal husband.

As they were about to reach the Bixia Shrine, Princess Chang Ping expressed her desire to walk there alone. She left the eunuch and his entourage behind. However, Liu Ruo Qian continued to support the eunuch and offered to keep an eye on Princess Chang Ping, allowing the eunuch to rest. This reassured the eunuch. Liu Ruo Qian followed Princess Chang Ping, but she was stopped by Princess Chang Ping. Meanwhile, Sha Ping Wei had already arrived at the Bixia Shrine, and Princess Chang Ping was captivated by a fire-spitting performance. Sha Ping Wei noticed someone making a wish under a big tree and thought she might be his destined person. However, when the person turned around, he realized she was much older and accompanied by her husband, which made Sha Ping Wei feel embarrassed.

Sha Ping Wei kept watching his destined person from the entrance, and Princess Chang Ping happened to see Sha Ping Wei nearby. She was enamored by his handsome appearance and speculated that Sha Ping Wei might be her destined person. The master even suggested that Princess Chang Ping should go over and greet him, dropping something in the process. After some consideration, Princess Chang Ping decided to approach and intentionally dropped the item. Sha Ping Wei chased after her and returned the item to Princess Chang Ping. Sha Ping Wei also found Chang Ping's face somewhat familiar. After discovering that both of them had received guidance from high-level individuals, they exchanged secret phrases and believed that they were each other's benefactors. In reality, they were also mutually attracted at first sight but dared not express their feelings.

After learning that Chang Ping Gong Zhu had left with a man, Yuan Bu Qu and Liu Ruo Qian were worried. However, Liu Ruo Qian reassured Yuan Bu Qu not to be overly concerned. Sha Ping Wei continued to praise himself, which gained Chang Ping Gong Zhu's favor. Yuan Bu Qu was searching everywhere for Chang Ping Gong Zhu, but Liu Ruo Qian knew that Sha Ping Wei had taken her away and wasn't too worried. Soon, Yuan Bu Qu received a report that there was trouble at the border, and he had to prepare for battle once again.

During the commotion, Chang Ping Gong Zhu's handkerchief accidentally flew away. Sha Ping Wei rushed to help retrieve it, but in that instant, a group of Men in Black appeared and abducted Chang Ping Gong Zhu, leaving Sha Ping Wei bewildered. When Sha Ping Wei noticed a fallen earring on the ground, he realized that Chang Ping Gong Zhu had likely been harmed. Knowing that there was only one way down the mountain, he quickly pursued them. From the villagers he encountered along the way, Sha Ping Wei learned that four people had carried a wooden box and left. Realizing the gravity of the situation, he hurriedly followed their trail.

By the time Sha Ping Wei arrived, the Men in Black had already taken Chang Ping Gong Zhu away. Liu Ruo Qian found the situation suspicious and asked if their identities had been exposed during their journey. Yuan Bu Qu suddenly remembered his connection with a corrupt county magistrate, and Liu Ruo Qian realized the danger they were facing. Sha Ping Wei inquired from the passersby and learned the direction the abductors had taken, prompting him to ride down the mountain on horseback. Liu Ruo Qian initially planned to find Yuan Bu Qu, but he discovered that Yuan Bu Qu had already left for battle. Realizing that he and his wife were the only ones who could save Sha Ping Wei and the princess, Liu Ruo Qian took action.

Sha Ping Wei finally saw Chang Ping Gong Zhu, confirming that she was indeed captured by the corrupt county magistrate. In a trap, Sha Ping Wei and Chang Ping Gong Zhu were thrown into a large pit. Initially unaware of the princess's identity, Sha Ping Wei learned it from the corrupt magistrate himself. He vowed to protect her, whether she was an ordinary person or a princess. As they were gradually buried under sand and rocks, Sha Ping Wei shielded Chang Ping Gong Zhu. At that moment, Liu Ruo Qian and his wife arrived, and they intercepted the corrupt magistrate who attempted to escape. Through the events of the day, Chang Ping Gong Zhu had completely fallen in love with Sha Ping Wei.

Chang Ping Gong Zhu publicly declared that Sha Ping Wei was her husband and continued to cling to him, making Sha Ping Wei feel a bit embarrassed. Sha Ping Wei couldn't believe that he was able to be with the princess, and Chang Ping Gong Zhu held his hand, expressing that their encounter was the destiny of true heroes. Although Sha Ping Wei wished to be with Chang Ping Gong Zhu, he needed to protect his home and country, so he had to go to battle first. Before leaving, Sha Ping Wei kissed Chang Ping Gong Zhu.
