Episode 15 recap: Gong Zi Yu personally tested the medicine to save Yun Wei Shan.
Yun Wei Shan, noticing the heavy humidity, deliberately put a coat on Gong Zi Yu. Gong Yuan Zheng reminded Shang Guan Qian to take good care of her injuries and not to go out unnecessarily. Curious, Shang Guan Qian asked Gong Shang Jue where he was going. He replied that he was going to the back mountain. Shang Guan Qian pretended not to know and exclaimed in surprise that there was a back mountain in the palace. Gong Yuan Zheng warned her not to inquire too much and mocked her tea-like ignorance. Shang Guan Qian directly retorted that it was Gong Shang Jue who had given it to her.
Gong Zi Yu and Yun Wei Shan were immediately tested in their martial arts skills by Yue Zhang Lao upon arriving at the back mountain. Yun Wei Shan was forced to ingest poison, and only Gong Zi Yu could obtain the antidote through the trial. Each area had different books, and only the medical book in this area contained the information needed to obtain the antidote. Yue Zhang Lao, out of friendship, revealed the information about the area but wouldn't disclose any further details. Gong Zi Yu stated that since it was a trial, the mission would surely be completed. With enough time to search through the many books, it indicated that the poison was a slow-acting one.
After speaking, Gong Zi Yu noticed that Yue Zhang Lao had already left, and Yun Wei Shan had fainted from the poison. Lady Wujin recalled the moment when she was writing behind a folding screen and was discovered by Shang Guan Qian. She was dragged into the room, and it happened to be the perfect opportunity for them to speculate on who would be suspected between the two of them. Lady Wujin made a move against Shang Guan Qian, who directly snatched an arrow. At that moment, Lady Wujin intentionally stabbed herself while her back was turned to Shang Guan Qian.
If Yun Wei Shan's poison from the Half-Moon Fly was not cured, it would torment her with an intense heartburn until death. She woke up in pain and found Gong Zi Yu sleeping against the bookshelf. She covered him with a blanket. Yun Wei Shan felt cold, as if standing on freezing ice. Yue Zhang Lao came to inquire about the books they had read. Gong Zi Yu mentioned that this poison usually lasted for half a month and was intentionally given a different name, "Moon-Devouring Heart," while its true name was "Half-Moon Fly." Yun Wei Shan was shocked to hear this, as it was the exact same poison that Nameless had fed her.
The configuration of the Half-Moon Fly was complex, and the crucial ingredient was torn away. Yue Zhang Lao stated that only he could devise the antidote for victory. Gong Zi Yu specifically asked for another one to use for research and explained the functions of each herb. That night, Yun Wei Shan and Gong Zi Yu studied the Half-Moon Fly together. Through the last two pills, they detected a scent similar to Bitterheart Grass. In her dream, Yun Wei Shan mentioned that the key medicinal ingredient was insect eggs. Gong Zi Yu crushed them and discovered real insect eggs inside. His gaze towards Yun Wei Shan changed.
Han Ya Si said that the messages from the assassins trained by Han Ya Qi couldn't be delivered. He passed the message from Yun Wei Shan to him, which contained the poison from Gong Yuan Zheng's hidden weapon box. Zi Yi noticed that there were people sent by the palace watching outside the door, and the reason they hadn't been eliminated was to confuse and deceive. Gong Zi Yu continued his research on the poison. He gave the formula to a servant and obtained a Cold Blade Stone. Jin Fan arrived at the medical clinic to collect medicine for Lady Wujin. Gong Yuan Zheng wanted to inspect the medicine package, but seeing Jin Fan's sincere attitude, he gave up on the inspection. Gong Zi Yu identified that there was a problem with the ginger brought by the servant through an initial test. Jin Fan discovered that there were no records of the doctor leaving the valley for medical treatment, and Gong Zi Shang suspected that the neighbor might be lying, but the clues were cut off. When Gong Yuan Zheng checked the medical records of Jia Guanshi's clinic, he found out that Jin Fan was also investigating. It seemed they were looking into the same matter. Gong Zi Yu promised not to deceive her anymore, and Yun Wei Shan promised to treat him sincerely.
