Episode 10 recap: Failure of the Ji Ming Zhao Band

Ji Ming Zhao's second sister suddenly arrived at the reception room. Upon seeing the sword wall, she pointed out its unbearable appearance and suggested that Ji Ming Zhao redo it. Liu Yun Gui and Dai Meng Hui, upon seeing Second Miss Ji, automatically stood up. It was because when they were young, Second Miss Ji suddenly appeared and broke their flutes because they played poorly, leaving a deep impression and a natural fear of her. Ji Ming Zhao, however, was undeterred.

Knowing that the display of weapons was poorly arranged, she proposed forming a music band. Liu Yun Gui and Dai Meng Hui looked at the disorganized weapons on the wall, lacking any aesthetic appeal, and decided to form the band.

Meng San Xi was responsible for a side project, which was almost completed. As he watched the craftsmen meticulously carving their respective sects, he felt an indescribable feeling. When the craftsmen didn't want to go home and wanted to add color to the stone carvings, Meng San Xi suddenly erupted. He reminded them that it was just a job and there was no need to pour their emotions into it. Seeing the somewhat sad expressions on the craftsmen's faces, he quickly explained that he couldn't speak anymore and told them to continue their work the next day.

Ji Ming Zhao knew that she couldn't handle the sword wall on her own, so she went to Ye Wu Zhi for help. However, Ye Wu Zhi was busy trying to figure out how to restore an old item and had no time. Ji Ming Zhao advised Ye Wu Zhi to change her mindset, which made Ye Wu Zhi think that Ji Ming Zhao would give her some money to play at the casino. Upon learning that Ji Ming Zhao only wanted her to arrange the sword wall, Ye Wu Zhi immediately refused. With no other options, Ji Ming Zhao went to find Meng San Xi, but he remained silent and shook his head in refusal. Ji Ming Zhao tried to pressure Meng San Xi with her words, but he immediately knelt down, forcing Ji Ming Zhao to retreat. Ji Ming Zhao had no choice but to seek out Yan Si Fang. Initially, Yan Si Fang also refused, but Ji Ming Zhao promised to bring something back for him to eat, using a tone of voice that resembled his departed mother. Yan Si Fang agreed to draw a design for Ji Ming Zhao, but she had to come back and arrange it herself.

At night, Ji Ming Zhao, Dai Meng Hui, and Liu Yun Gui formed a band and practiced outdoors. Despite their efforts, their performance lacked any aesthetic appeal. Dai Meng Hui felt that it still had the same taste as before. Liu Yun Zong calmly analyzed that if they didn't make progress by daybreak, they should just give up. The three of them continued to work hard, wanting to see if they could make it. They realized that no matter how hard they tried, they couldn't distinguish the sounds, but they were unwilling to give up and continued to play. The haunting melody floated along the riverbank all night, seemingly unnoticed by the three flute players, who continued to play with all their might.

Meng San Xi went to find Ye Wu Zhi and discovered that she was struggling with how to recreate the scenery exactly as she remembered it from Qingjing Temple. Meng San Xi advised Ye Wu Zhi not to be so particular, as it was just a job after all. Ye Wu Zhi refused to give up. Meng San Xi then smeared some dust on the snow-white wall, which made Ye Wu Zhi have an epiphany. She immediately brought a basket of soil and started plastering the wall. After realizing Ye Wu Zhi's sentiment, Meng San Xi also joined in the effort, albeit unintentionally. They ended up throwing a clump of soil at each other, with Ye Wu Zhi pretending to accidentally return the clump. Meng San Xi took the opportunity to step on Ye Wu Zhi's foot, and Ye Wu Zhi retaliated. They worked and played in this lively atmosphere, filling the small courtyard with their laughter.

Yan Si Fang couldn't accept the taste of the dishes at Feng Ren Yuan, so he decided to cook tofu by himself at night. Qiu Yue Bai caught Yan Si Fang in the act and believed that his disdain for the taste of their food was too hurtful. Curious about how well Yan Si Fang could cook, Qiu Yue Bai was surprised to see that Yan Si Fang simply threw the tofu into the pan along with a heap of seasonings, resulting in a black and unappetizing dish. However, Qiu Yue Bai, who had never eaten food from other places, found it delicious. Qiu Yue Bai continued to maintain the taste of Feng Ren Yuan as a way to safeguard a sense of belonging. Yan Si Fang stopped mocking the taste of Feng Ren Yuan's cooking.

After a night of hard work, Ji Ming Zhao, Dai Meng Hui, and Liu Yun Zong finally realized that they didn't have talent in that area, so they burned the flutes. Ji Ming Zhao started to feel homesick and asked Dai Meng Hui and Liu Yun Zong if they felt the same, but neither of them answered. Instead, they quickly left, using the excuse that they had to go to work. Yan Si Fang's design drawings were impressive, so Ji Ming Zhao brought Liu Yun Gui and Dai Meng Hui to help with the setup. As they worked happily, they couldn't help but dance together. Ji Ming Zhao suggested forming a dance troupe, but this time, no one agreed to her proposal.
