Episode 17 recap: Meng San XiYe Wu Zhi Yan Si Fang is Wanted by Thieves

San Qi Dao presented a list of crimes committed by over a dozen disciples to the head of the Qing Jing Sect. The sect leader specifically gathered the disciples to clarify the situation, and everyone admitted to having killed someone. As the one transmitting the sect's teachings, the sect leader would also be implicated. However, the junior disciple, Yan Si Fang, was innocent. Therefore, the sect leader requested that after his death, Yan Si Fang should succeed him as the sect leader. Wu Wuang Gong, practiced by Yan Si Fang, has already reached a high level of attainment.

However, she has never left the mountain to experience the complexities of human affairs. The sect leader worries that if she becomes the sect leader, she might lead the disciples into endless conflicts with San Qi Dao. Therefore, he insists on having the junior disciple take on the role of the next sect leader.

Liu Yun Xiao tells Ye Wu Zhi that he is the one who killed those sixteen individuals. However, it was because they had already killed one of his friends and the entire merchant group. If he hadn't killed those people, they would have brought harm to other merchant groups. So, even if given another chance, he would still make the same choice. Liu Yun Xiao is concerned that there won't be anyone to take care of Ye Wu Zhi in the Qing Jing Sect in the future. He gives Ye Wu Zhi a letter, intending for her to seek refuge with the Liu family in Mu Yun City. He also has one final wish to express, but he doesn't have the opportunity to say it before San Qi Dao attacks the Qing Jing Sect.

Wu Ming General Store has risen from the fifteenth to the ninth position. The people from the Liang family can't stand to see Ji Ming Zhao doing well, so they deliberately provoke Ji Ming Zhao's caravan. Ji Ming Zhao witnesses her people being beaten without daring to fight back, and she becomes consumed with anger. She immediately orders her men to ruthlessly beat the attackers. In the end, both sides are injured, and after offsetting the medical expenses, Ji Ming Zhao earns more than 20 taels. She understands that this is a conspiracy by the Liang family, so she confronts them directly. The Liang family is not one to back down and asks Ji Ming Zhao why she resorted to violence. It turns out that Ji Ming Zhao knew they would keep finding faults, so she decided to make her stance clear, letting the Liang family know that she is not someone to be trifled with. The Liang family spreads news of Ji Ming Zhao leading people to fight in the streets, causing the popularity of Wu Ming General Store to decline. To turn the tide, Ji Ming Zhao comes up with a plan. She decides to find someone who is not too skilled in martial arts but is universally hated and bring them to justice to quickly gain favor from the public.

As a gathering place for information, Lao Wang Noodle House serves truly terrible food. No matter whether Ji Ming Zhao adds vinegar or chili, it fails to stimulate one's appetite. Dai Meng Hui is currently very poor but has access to the information room in Lao Wang Noodle House. This puzzles Ji Ming Zhao, and she can't help but inquire about the situation but is warned by Dai Meng Hui not to meddle. The owner of Lao Wang Noodle House provides a suitable candidate whom Ji Ming Zhao can apprehend. This person is named Ran Hao Ling and is a notorious womanizer. The people in Mu Yun City detest him to the core.

Ji Ming Zhao took Meng San Xi, Ye Wu Zhi, and Yan Si Fang to investigate the hideout of the flower thief. They unexpectedly saw Liu Yun Gui talking to a rough-looking man who praised Liu Yun Gui for making him feel comfortable and arranged to meet again in the future. Ji Ming Zhao's mind went to inappropriate thoughts upon hearing this, but Liu Yun Gui sensed her thinking and didn't explain. Instead, he reminded Ji Ming Zhao and the others to quickly leave the area. Ji Ming Zhao thought that Liu Yun Gui had engaged in something indecent and didn't want them to catch him in the act. He warned Meng San Xi, Yan Si Fang, and Ye Wu Zhi not to speak about it recklessly after returning to the city to avoid tarnishing Liu Yun Gui's reputation.

When Ji Ming Zhao booked a room, there were no more available upper rooms, only a side room. Without hesitation, she chose that side room. Once inside the room, they analyzed the strange aspect of the inn: few people were seen, yet the rooms were already occupied. Yan Si Fang speculated that it was a gathering place where the higher-class rooms had already been reserved, and the occupants would indulge in debauchery later in the evening. The innkeeper informed them that a grand meeting of heroes would be held there, and from now on, no one was allowed to leave. Ji Ming Zhao and the others, realizing they had stumbled into a den of thieves, quickly returned to their room. On the wanted posters issued for the meeting, they were shocked to find Meng San Xi, Yan Si Fang, and Ye Wu Zhi listed. Upon returning to their room, they convinced Ji Ming Zhao to go and buy disguises from the innkeeper. As they were disguised and walking towards the square, they were noticed by someone. Meng San Xi claimed they were the Four Heroes but couldn't explain their origins clearly. Just as it seemed they would be recognized as impostors, Dai Meng Hui stepped in and claimed them as his own, saving them from trouble.

Meng San Xi was being pursued because in his earlier years, he used his powerful martial arts skills to capture many wanted criminals, which attracted attention. Now that he had lost his internal strength but possessed extraordinary agility, he became a valuable target in the eyes of these people. Yan Si Fang, being a genius formation master and alchemist, would enhance the strength of anyone who acquired him, making him a sought-after prize. Ye Wu Zhi's Innocence Skill could elevate one's realm, which made her a desirable target for the criminals as well.
