Episode 1 recap: Ye Liu Xi came to find Chang Dong to be her guide.
Ye Liu Xi woke up in the desert, with no memory of what happened before. There was a suspicious man nearby who tried to capture Ye Liu Xi, but she swiftly knocked him down and demanded to know who she was. The man found it perplexing, wondering how she would know who he was. Ye Liu Xi then discovered another woman tied up in the trunk of a car. She freed the woman and tied up the man, locking him in the trunk.
The woman led Ye Liu Xi and the man back home, explaining that the man had tried to abduct her, and she promptly called the police. On the radio, they heard a report about stolen artifacts, with a suspect named Bai Yang having significant involvement. The recent police report stated that Bai Yang had been apprehended, and law enforcement was on their way to the scene.
Ye Liu Xi arrived at the shadow puppet theater, where she had become a regular visitor. She went backstage and met an old man who revealed himself as Chang Dong's uncle. He expressed his displeasure at Chang Dong for leading people into the desert but failing to bring them back, causing such a big incident that Chang Dong had been severely criticized.
The old man lifted a sheet, revealing a memorial photo of Chang Dong. Ye Liu Xi noticed the accumulation of dust on the table, indicating that the old man didn't frequently pay respects to his nephew. The old man believed that Chang Dong had caused the deaths of many people and deserved to die multiple times. He couldn't fathom why Ye Liu Xi would still seek Chang Dong as a guide. Ye Liu Xi explained that she chose Chang Dong as her guide because she recognized his abilities and that her mistake didn't diminish his skills.
The old man saw Ye Liu Xi leaving behind a photo and hurriedly chased after her. Ye Liu Xi called and revealed that she already knew he was Chang Dong. She told him that if he wanted to take on her job, he had three days to find her, which would prove his capability. After the old man returned, he removed the fake skin from his face, revealing that he was indeed Chang Dong. Chang Dong remembered what happened before, how his girlfriend Kong Yang was left in the desert, and everyone was blaming him, thinking that out of the 19 people from the Camellia Group, he was the only one left.
Chang Dong went to find Fei Tang, who was surprised to see him since they hadn't seen each other in two years. Chang Dong explained that he had just installed some new surveillance cameras at the entrance and came to check the footage. As expected, he found the scene of Ye Liu Xi getting into a car. Chang Dong thought it would be great if they could find information about the car owner, and Fei Tang assured him that he would take care of it.
Fei Tang found the car owner's information, and Chang Dong called the owner, who said the car had been rented to a girl named Ye, who was currently selling melons in Qinglang Town. Chang Dong arrived in Qinglang Town and had a meal at a restaurant across from where Ye Liu Xi sold melons. He overheard people discussing that Ye Liu Xi was also involved in that line of work. Later, when he arrived at the hotel, he saw someone slipping a card under his door, so he called someone over.
Chang Dong inquired about Ye Liu Xi with the person he called. A woman said that Ye Liu Xi probably wasn't involved in that line of work because a while ago, several of their sisters were being followed, and Ye Liu Xi was responsible for picking them up and dropping them off for 10 yuan per trip. Chang Dong went to find Ye Liu Xi, who asked him how he knew the photo wasn't fabricated. Chang Dong explained that it was the first time Kong Yang wore that particular outfit, and only he had seen it. Chang Dong knew that the place in the photo was Hailong Mound because the soil there was saline and alkaline, with gypsum mud, different from other places. Ye Liu Xi said she knew where that place was, and Chang Dong would be the guide while she would be in charge of finding people. Chang Dong decided to call himself once everything was arranged.
Fei Tang noticed something strange while watching the surveillance footage and called a friend to ask whether the person who identified the head of the yellow goat as an expert was a man or a woman. The friend said it was a woman and that she was supposed to have it at the Historical Museum, but it looked too genuine.
While watching this drama and seeing the fight between Liu Xi and Bo Gu, resulting in Shan Cha's unfortunate death, I would like to share my own perspective.
First, Liu Xi didn't intentionally start the fight. He had concerns in his heart, which is normal. Second, since Long Zhi didn't save Shan Cha's life, and they all died, does that mean we shouldn't blame Chang Dong anymore?
I feel that none of this should be blamed on Long Zhi. Originally, Chang Dong went along with Shan Cha and got injured. Long Zhi, in order to execute her plan to kill Liu Xi, insisted on saving him.
She even turned all the dead bodies, including Shan Cha, into sand figures by feeding them with the sand substance. Shouldn't she be considered a villain with a twisted mind?
Everyone keeps saying that Chang Dong shouldn't have fallen in love with Liu Xi. Well, indirectly causing harm, whether intentional or not, is still a matter of concern.
I understand that. But those who say we should hate Liu Xi, are you kidding? Are you only hating him because you support Long Zhi? The mindset of a normal person should be against Long Zhi, the antagonist.
Liu Xi indirectly caused harm, which is not a lethal offense, and it was unintentional. Long Zhi, on the other hand, did it intentionally. Think for yourself.
If Chang Dong didn't kill Ye Liu Xi, it means he's a normal person, isn't it obvious?
