Episode 8 recap: Ye Liu Xi and Chang Dong returned to Hailong Mound once again.

The next day, Fei Tang woke up and discovered that the previously disappeared tire tracks and flags were now visible again, which made him very happy. Huo Ya and the others were hastily packing their belongings, preparing to leave. Chang Dong asked if they hadn't found Hui Ba's body when they went back. Huo Ya explained that all the bodies were gone, and the coffin was also missing. These things were too eerie, and they didn't want to stay there any longer.

They asked Ye Liu Xi about her wound, and she said it had healed and stopped bleeding, but it still felt a bit damp. Chang Dong reassured her that it was normal and she needed to take it easy. Chang Dong took them to a place and said it was worth Fei Tang's trip. There were some rocks, and he asked Fei Tang to pick some up. Fei Tang was thrilled and quickly went to do so.

Chang Dong mentioned his speculation that there might be two Hailong Mounds. One with the tire tracks and another with the coffin. He hadn't found Kong Yang and the others' bodies, which could be because they were in the second Hailong Mound.

Fei Tang returned after picking up the rocks, and Chang Dong and the others were planning to enter Hailong Mound again. They gave Fei Tang a satellite phone and asked him to send supplies when the time came. While resting, Chang Dong worked on carving shadow puppets. Ye Liu Xi asked why he was doing that. Chang Dong explained that sometimes when one gets too immersed in one thing, it helps to divert attention to something else. Ye Liu Xi noted that if that's the case, Chang Dong hadn't really moved on from that one thing.

Ye Liu Xi noticed someone outside, and upon going out, they discovered it was a man behaving erratically. Chang Dong identified him as the escaped Zhang Shao, who was likely driven mad by fear. Zhang Shao kept saying that the sand was coming and they needed an umbrella, or they would be buried. Chang Dong wanted to tie Zhang Shao up with a rope and asked Ye Liu Xi to keep an eye on him, but unexpectedly, Ye Liu Xi knocked him out, leaving Chang Dong speechless.

Chang Dong carefully examined the timelines of the appearances of the first and second sea dragon mounds and concluded that the most crucial point should be Ye Liu Xi herself. He thought about the strange things that had been happening with Ye Liu Xi recently and remembered her wound. Ye Liu Xi's wound was bleeding. Ye Liu Xi found it impossible, but Chang Dong suggested that they experiment to find out.

Chang Dong took a drop of Ye Liu Xi's blood and let it fall on the ground. They observed as the blood instantly seeped into the ground and disappeared. Suddenly, the wind started blowing, and Chang Dong mentioned that there was a saying in Dabubu: "The wind brings the beginning, and the water brings the end." The place where the wind starts is called the "wind head," and the place where the water ends is called the "water tail." Currently, this place should be the "wind head." Chang Dong watched as the wind grew stronger, never expecting to witness such a phenomenon one day.

Chang Dong, along with Zhang Shao, returned to the location of the coffin and found that everything was gone. Chang Dong examined the hardness of the soil mounds and concluded that they were not yardang formations but most likely the "down sand" that Zhang Shao mentioned — the sand buried these things.

Chang Dong also brought a drone and took aerial footage of the area. There were numerous mounds, and two parallel roads ran between them, with the mounds resembling street lamps on both sides. Chang Dong believed this to be the Si Ma Road. Ye Liu Xi asked what the Si Ma Road was, and Chang Dong explained that it was the burial place where emperors and empresses were interred, and upon entering, there would be a Si Ma Road. Ye Liu Xi speculated that, in that case, Yumen Pass might be a massive tomb. Chang Dong found it strange too and wondered when they had entered another world.

Chang Dong carefully considered the recent events and concluded that Ye Liu Xi was likely a key to all of this. Ye Liu Xi and Chang Dong returned to the coffin, wanting to investigate how it had disappeared.
