Episode 4 recap: Zhu Jiu stayed behind to treat Fu Yun Shen's jealousy.
Fu Yun Shen was still thinking about what to say to Zhu Jiu as soon as she woke up when Gu Ruan Ruan called him on a satellite phone. Gu Ruan Ruan had always liked Fu Xizhou but couldn't reach him, so she ended up calling Fu Yun Shen instead. When Zhu Jiu came out, she thought it was Fu Yun Shen's girlfriend calling. Fu Yun Shen couldn't help but chuckle, but he didn't explicitly say anything. However, when Zhu Jiu returned to the tent to rest, Fu Yun Shen told her that he didn't have a girlfriend. Zhu Jiu couldn't help but burst into laughter.
The next day, Zhu Jiu's condition improved, and they continued their journey. After walking for a while, both of them felt tired. So Fu Yun Shen gave Zhu Jiu his water bottle to drink from. Zhu Jiu accidentally touched the rim of the water bottle and felt a bit embarrassed.
Soon, they finally reached the tribe, and Fu Yun Shen saw their company's tent. Before Zhu Jiu had a chance to rest, she was called over to attend to a patient. It turned out that everyone here was a refugee, and there was only one doctor named Ji Si Lang. Zhu Jiu found Ji Si Lang's name familiar and later realized that he was her senior. Fu Yun Shen felt a pang of jealousy when he saw Zhu Jiu talking to Ji Si Lang and asked her to pack up and prepare to continue the journey.
Zhu Jiu stayed temporarily to treat the injured refugees. Many children here had skin diseases, and Zhu Jiu learned from Ji Si Lang that most of the medicines were donated by the Lingtian Group where Fu Yun Shen worked. Zhu Jiu's grandfather was still a bit angry when he learned that Fu Yun Shen had gone to Country M. However, Fu Yun Shen assured his grandfather that he was doing fine here. Chen Le, following Fu Yun Shen's request, gave them all the supplies. During these days, Fu Yun Shen had been accompanying Zhu Jiu as she stayed here temporarily. Ji Si Lang still wanted Zhu Jiu to stay for a while longer since he was the only doctor there and sometimes couldn't handle the workload alone.
The wounded continued to come in an endless stream, so they wanted Zhu Jiu to stay here for another week. That night, Zhu Jiu told Fu Yun Shen about it, but he felt that they were already running out of time and had to leave the next day. Zhu Jiu felt that the number of refugees here kept increasing, and if they left, Ji Si Lang would be overwhelmed. However, Fu Yun Shen believed that even if they left, life here would continue without changing the current situation. Fu Yun Shen and Zhu Jiu had a heated argument, and Zhu Jiu angrily went back to her tent.
The next day, Zhu Jiu and Ji Si Lang resumed treating the patients, and they worked tirelessly before taking a short break. Although Fu Yun Shen said he didn't want to change their plans, he still informed Ansen about their change in itinerary. Ansen insisted that they must make good use of their time. That night, Ji Si Lang expressed his concerns about Zhu Jiu staying behind, thinking it would delay their progress. At first, Zhu Jiu thought that Fu Yun Shen had already left, but he returned with supplies. Zhu Jiu was genuinely happy, but she didn't say much.
After finishing their work that night, Zhu Jiu told Fu Yun Shen about a little girl she had encountered. The girl was just looking for her lost dog but ended up getting injured by soldiers. The situation here was undeniably cruel. Seeing that Zhu Jiu was feeling down, Fu Yun Shen comforted her. He believed that Zhu Jiu would be able to heal many patients. With Fu Yun Shen's comforting words, Zhu Jiu's mood improved significantly.
After a week, Zhu Jiu was ready to leave, and Ji Si Lang thanked her for staying these past days. Chen Le handed over the herbal medicine that Fu Yun Shen had prepared for them and explained how to use it, which was very helpful for Ji Si Lang. The refugees learned that they were about to leave and came to bid them farewell. Next, Fu Yun Shen's group continued their journey, heading towards a tribe. Ansen informed them that they would soon reach a tribe and briefed them on what to expect there.
They arrived at the tribe quickly, where the villagers were reciting incantations. They learned from Ansen that the villagers were seeking treatment. Zhu Jiu also helped treat the sick children, and seeing the children in pain, she felt a deep sense of compassion. Ansen told Fu Yun Shen that they used to have the herb he needed in this tribe, but it hadn't grown for a long time. Fu Yun Shen still planned to go into the mountains and search for it as soon as possible. Zhu Jiu also told her uncle that she wanted to find this herb and help the village with their medical needs.
In the evening, Fu Yun Shen was still cooking, and Zhu Jiu couldn't resist the aroma and went over. She pretended not to want to eat, but deep down, she really wanted to. Zhu Jiu took a bite and found it delicious.
