Episode 20 recap: Tao Tao went back to the past.
Tao Tao slowly began to disappear while holding her phone. She saw her past self with a ponytail and wearing a school uniform. As soon as she turned her head, she saw Ye Fan riding a bicycle towards her. She couldn't believe that she had returned to the day when she first met Ye Fan, back when they didn't know each other.
Ye Fan took care of Tao Tao, who grew weaker day by day. When he got tired, he would sleep on Tao Tao's body. Tao Tao woke up and saw Ye Fan. She remembered the scene where Ye Fan helped her with her exercises, encouraging her to take it slowly. Someone knocked on the door, and Tao Tao went back to her room to rest. It was a colleague from Ye Fan's company, asking him what he would do when Tao Tao eventually leaves, considering he gave up everything for her, including all social interactions.
Ye Fan told her that he did all of this willingly and asked her not to continue with her questioning. The woman asked Ye Fan if Tao Tao was still more important to him even in this situation. Ye Fan told her to leave, and disappointed, she turned and said she would never come back again. Ye Fan fed Tao Tao, and although Tao Tao insisted on doing it herself, her hand couldn't exert any strength.
At night, she measured her body temperature and hesitated with her old-style phone. The next morning, she told Ye Fan that she wanted to visit Xiangnan University. Ye Fan took Tao Tao to Xiangnan University, and they reminisced about when they first met. Tao Tao told him that she wanted to eat shaved ice, and Ye Fan went to buy it for her. Tao Tao sat there and dialed the number of her past self in 2018 using her old phone. She had only just spoken a few words before she time-traveled back to 2018, to the day when she first met Ye Fan.
