Episode 21 recap: Ye Fan & Tao Tao meet each other
Zuo Luo were embracing Youyou when Zuo Luo mentioned that he wanted to introduce Tao Tao to a promising young man who had talent, good looks, and a bright future. Youyou asked why their friend hadn't arrived yet and questioned if he was reliable. Zuo Luo assured her that he was reliable and guaranteed that he would be there soon. Tao Tao then revealed that she had been diagnosed with ALS and had no intention of seeking treatment or pursuing romantic relationships.
In 2018, at Xiangnan High School, the teacher announced that Ye Fan would be transferring to Class 5 of Grade 12, and their class would welcome a new student. The new student turned out to be Tao Tao. As Ye Fan carried his books and left, he coincidentally brushed past Tao Tao walking towards the classroom. Ye Fan and Nan Feng watched the moon from the rooftop, with Ye Fan pointing out how big and beautiful it was. Tao Tao, on the other hand, was also looking at the moon, but standing beside her was Qin Chuanhe.
In 2022, at Lianhua University, Ye Fan and Tao Tao once again passed each other on the stairs. They went to an ice powder shop outside the school together, still brushing past each other. Four years later, Youyou and Zuo Luo made plans to have afternoon tea with Tao Tao, where they tried to introduce potential suitors to her. Tao Tao informed them about her ALS diagnosis and her decision not to seek treatment or pursue romantic relationships.
After saying that, Tao Tao left with her bag, and Ye Fan, who happened to be sitting next to them, overheard. Tao Tao expressed her desire to volunteer as one of the first participants in a treatment program for ALS. Youyou warned her about the significant risks involved, but Tao Tao believed that any progress would be a tremendous hope for ALS patients. Youyou mentioned that the founder of the project had said the same thing and informed Tao Tao about a report meeting the next day that she should attend. Tao Tao attended the report meeting, and when Ye Fan saw her, he was reminded of how his gaze always lingered whenever he saw Tao Tao. Several years later, Tao Tao successfully survived. (The end)
