Episode 5 recap: Tao Tao and Ye Fan made plans to go out together.
Ye Fan asked Tao Tao why she left before finishing the question. Tao Tao asked him if he wasn't supposed to accompany Nan Feng. They made plans to eat shaved ice together, but the owner told them there was only one serving left. Ye Fan asked Tao Tao why she liked eating shaved ice, and Tao Tao told him that when she was young, she didn't want to take medicine, so her mother mixed it with shaved ice to make her eat it.
Ye Fan then asked her why she didn't like drinking milk tea, and Tao Tao told him that she was afraid of getting fat. Tao Tao remembered the phone call she received from Ye Fan in 2022, where he said that he didn't like shaved ice with peanuts. True to his word, Ye Fan didn't eat it. Tao Tao shared this with Ye Fan, and although he didn't fully believe it, he quietly listened to Tao Tao and had a happy smile on his face.
During the monthly exam, both Tao Tao and Ye Fan finished their papers early and went out together. Ye Fan saw Tao Tao's happy expression and couldn't help but take a picture of her. Tao Tao noticed that there were many pictures in Ye Fan's notebook and asked him what these pictures meant to him. Ye Fan told her it was love. Tao Tao looked at the pictures of the back of his head and asked him if he took these pictures out of love and not out of being a pervert. Ye Fan told her that when he was young, his grandmother always slept with her back turned to him, so for him, it represented warmth and dependence.
