Episode 12 recap: Ma Cheng Jun was determined to win back Lin Yan.
Ma Cheng Jun knocked on Lin Yan's door with joy in his heart, only to see Xiao Mo buttoning his shirt as the door opened. He immediately became angry and accused Lin Yan of living together with Xiao Mo. The more Ma Cheng Jun thought about it, the angrier he became.
He rushed into the bathroom and saw Xiao Mo and Lin Yan's cups placed together, with both of them using matching black and white bathroom accessories. This further infuriated him. Ma Cheng Jun then went to the bedroom and found two pillows on the bed, which left him utterly devastated. He demanded that Lin Yan choose between him and Xiao Mo.
Lin Yan made it clear that Xiao Mo was just her personal bodyguard, intending to frighten Ma Cheng Jun and make him reconsider their relationship. After Lin Yan went upstairs, Ma Cheng Jun announced to Xiao Mo that he intended to marry Lin Yan. However, Xiao Mo retorted that Lin Yan had no intention of marrying him at all. Ma Cheng Jun couldn't accept this and left Lin Yan's house with the ring and flowers.
Due to being heavily intoxicated, Ma Cheng Jun mistook Wen Li Li for Lin Yan and swore to take Lin Yan back. This enraged Wen Li Li, and she couldn't help but scratch the sleeping Ma Cheng Jun, believing that he had fallen under Lin Yan's spell, causing him to be so obsessed with her. Until Lin Yan reclaims the Lin family, she won't break up with Ma Cheng Jun. To achieve this, she forcefully restrains her emotions and tells Xiao Mo not to interfere in her personal affairs. She suggests taking a two-day break to calm down, coinciding with Xiao Mo's plan to meet with Mr. He. Thus, he leaves Lin Yan's place. Wen Li Li advises Ma Cheng Jun to take the money they've acquired from the Lin family and live abroad together. However, Ma Cheng Jun is unwilling to give up. He not only wants the Lin family but also desires Lin Yan. He mocks Wen Li Li, claiming she is unworthy of being Mrs. Ma, which drives Wen Li Li into a frenzy. She vows to make Lin Yan experience the same feelings she is going through.
