Episode 4 recap: Lin Yan outsmarted Wen Li Li.
Due to Wen Li Li's deliberate mischief, Ma Cheng Jun slapped her hard across the face. It was then that Wen Li Li realized she meant nothing to Ma Cheng Jun, while Lin Yan was the Lin family's beloved daughter and naturally received Ma Cheng Jun's favor.
Xiao Mo had a busy schedule, but he had all his appointments canceled. He hopped on his motorcycle to meet Lin Yan, intending to help her but requested half of Lin Yan's shares in the Lin family as compensation. Lin Yan didn't know where Xiao Mo had disappeared to for all those years and worried that he had returned to seek revenge for her driving him away. Therefore, she rejected Xiao Mo's proposal and reminded him that he was no longer her father's assistant and that she could seek revenge on her own.
Lin Yan wanted to return to work at the Lin family, but Ma Cheng Jun was concerned that her presence would disrupt his plans. So he colluded with Wen Li Li to bring in Lin Yan's Aunt San to take care of her. Lin Yan remembered that when she was unconscious, Aunt San deliberately increased the speed of her IV drip, slapped her, and even pinched her, which made her furious. As soon as Ma Cheng Jun left home, Lin Yan slapped Aunt San, who cried and begged for mercy, revealing that all her actions were under Wen Li Li's instructions. Lin Yan offered one million yuan for Aunt San to testify against Wen Li Li, which infuriated Wen Li Li. They immediately got into a fight, and Lin Yan enjoyed watching the scene unfold. Afterwards, she pretended to believe Wen Li Li, causing Aunt San and Wen Li Li to have a falling-out.
Ma Cheng Jun voluntarily suggested that Lin Yan take on the role of chairman, as he had already set a trap for her to fall into. In order to ruin Lin Yan's reputation, Wen Li Li called in a few young men to assault her.
