Episode 14 recap: Dong Dongen and Lou Yuan confirmed their relationship.
Dong Dongen fell asleep, while Lou Yuan watched her and asked how she felt about him. The next day, Lou Yuan brought up the topic again, but Dong Dongen quickly claimed that she had fallen asleep the previous day and didn't hear anything. Dong Dongen felt that their current relationship was a bit strange and expressed a desire to return to their simple friendship.
When they arrived at the guesthouse, there was only one bed, so they had to sleep side by side on it. The owner of the guesthouse gave Dong Dongen a military coat to keep her warm. Dong Dongen came out holding the coat, looking for Lou Yuan. Lou Yuan borrowed a large padded coat and trousers from other women in the village. These women kept talking to Lou Yuan and when they saw Dong Dongen approaching, they thought they were a married couple, feeling sorry for their husband. Dong Dongen played along, helped Lou Yuan out of the situation, and pulled him away.
Due to continuous rain in the area, the previous shooting plans couldn't be carried out. Xue Dao said he would come up with a new shooting plan. Lou Yuan called Zhu Li and informed her that he would be staying in Xingyun Village for the next few days. If there were any meetings, he asked Cao and Wang to handle them. If there were any documents that required his signature, they should be sent to Xingyun Village.
Dong Dongen was still working on the new shooting plan when Lou Yuan came over and poured hot water for her, urging her to rest early. Dong Dongen fell asleep, and Lou Yuan watched her, asking how she truly felt about him and if she genuinely didn't like him. Lou Yuan expressed that from the first moment he saw Dong Dongen, he thought she was kind-hearted and willing to help strangers. Later on, he thought Dong Dongen had become worldly and even participated in horse racing, but he gradually realized that Dong Dongen hadn't really changed; she just kept those important things hidden.
The next day, Lou Yuan brought up the incident again, and Dong Dong En quickly claimed that she had fallen asleep yesterday and didn't hear anything. Lou Yuan asked if Dong Dong En was truly asleep, and she insisted that she was. Lou Yuan asked if Dong Dong En knew who pushed her down yesterday. He arrived late and only saw a figure wearing a raincoat and a hat, trying to hide themselves. Dong Dong En explained that the person was behind her, so she didn't know who it was. Dong Dong En believed that the person wanted to prevent them from filming and speculated it could be due to business competition. Lou Yuan thought of Su Qi.
Upon learning that Cao Ya was sick, Wei Kaile came to take care of her. When Cao Ya woke up, she felt extremely uncomfortable and wanted to drink hot water, but there was no water in the cup, and Wei Kaile was outside. Cao Ya passed out when she came out, which startled Wei Kaile. Wang Zi Jian also arrived and quickly took Cao Ya to the hospital.
Lou Yuan came out to find Dong Dong En, and she took him to her former school. Dong Dong En felt that their current relationship was a bit strange and wished to return to a simpler friendship between a family and a friend. Lou Yuan confessed his feelings for Dong Dong En and although he was rejected, he continued to make efforts. Dong Dong En wondered why someone as perfect as Lou Yuan would like her. Lou Yuan admitted that he also had many flaws and wasn't perfect. Dong Dong En agreed to be in a semi-official relationship with Lou Yuan but insisted on keeping it a secret from others.
Finally, the rain stopped after a long time, and they could start shooting the next day. When Dong Dong En woke up the next day, everyone had already left. Lou Yuan asked Dong Dong En for a kiss, but the director walked in at that moment, causing Dong Dong En to feel frustrated. They were about to start filming, but the female actress was concerned about the danger and refused to come. Lou Yuan's mother came to visit, and Dong Dong En thought she was a perfect fit for the role, so they asked Lou Yuan's mother to join the shoot.
Suddenly, a group of people arrived and declared that they wouldn't allow Dong Dong En and the others to continue filming there, leading to an argument. Lou Yuan protected Dong Dong En but ended up getting hit multiple times.
Lou Yuan hopes that Dong Dong En can set aside their identities and consider accepting this relationship. In the end, Dong Dong En is completely moved and suggests that they don't establish a formal relationship before the contract ends but instead get to know each other as quasi-boyfriend and quasi-girlfriend.
Lou Yuan thought Dong Dong En was asleep and whispered about his admiration. He talked about how the first time he saw Dong Dong En, he thought the other person was kind and willing to help strangers. However, upon getting to know Dong Dong En more deeply, he realized that it wasn't the case.
Everyone squeezed together and slept in a communal bed. The sound of deep slumber echoed through the room in the middle of the night. How could Master Lou Yuan, this young master, possibly fall asleep? When he opened his eyes, he found Dong Dong En's bed empty.
Wasn't this the perfect opportunity?
I learned as I grew up that you shouldn't mix different cold medicines. It's really fortunate when I think about it! When I was a child, my immune system was weak, and I had a congenital heart disease, although I didn't know about it at the time.
So I engaged in vigorous activities like running and sports without seeking medical attention. It wasn't until I was almost 18 years old that I found out about my heart condition, and by then it had progressed significantly and was clearly noticeable.
During my childhood, I would catch colds and have fevers frequently. I would receive injections, take medications, and even need intravenous fluids. Each time I caught a cold, it would take a long time to recover.
It was as if it was life-threatening, extremely uncomfortable, and it just wouldn't get better no matter what. The recovery was slow and accompanied by a great deal of discomfort.
It was incredibly exaggerated!
During that time, my grandmother (Nai Nai) gave me cold medicine, but I would mix different types of medicine together. She would give me various medicines, all in an effort to help me recover from the cold and fever.
I was young back then, and when my Nai Nai handed me the medicine, I would take it without checking the medicine box or anything. I would just take whatever medicine the adults gave me.
And at that time, I didn't know that you shouldn't mix different cold medicines!
In the early days, when I was in kindergarten or something, my Nai Nai gave me cold medicine, but she gave me the wrong medicine.
She gave me medicine intended for other family members. And since my cold symptoms didn't improve, I became weak and lethargic, and I kept taking cold medicine over and over again, increasing the dosage.
She even complained to the people around her, saying she didn't know what was wrong with me, why my cold wasn't getting better, and how the medicine wasn't working even though I had taken so much of it.
She mentioned how many times she had given it to me and made fun of it. The people around her told her that it's not right to take medicine that way, as it could be harmful.
They asked my Nai Nai to show them the medicine! Then that distant relative said that it wasn't cold medicine; I had taken the wrong medicine. My Nai Nai was shocked and said she had given me a lot of it already.
Others quickly told her to stop giving it to me! After I stopped taking that medicine, gradually I started feeling better, and I became more energetic. I was speechless!
At that time, I was with my Nai Nai visiting relatives on my grandfather's side.
My Nai Nai took me there and brought the medicine, but she ended up taking the wrong one. Anyway, I feel like I was really lucky during my childhood! There were so many dangerous moments during my growth, but fortunately, nothing serious happened.
