Episode 2 recap: Dong Dongen is willing to work as a janitor in order to secure the contract.
Lou Yuan came with evidence to confront Mr. Lai and his team, exposing the fact that Mr. Lai was taking kickbacks. He mentioned their shared history of starting the company together and decided not to hand over the evidence to the police, instead giving them the option to resign on their own. Though Mr. Lai and his team were reluctant, the evidence was undeniable, leaving them with no choice but to leave.
Dong Dongen initially believed that once this issue was resolved, Lou Yuan would continue the contract with their company. However, they received a notice of termination instead. Dong Dongen asked Zhu Li if they had misunderstood something, but Zhu Li confirmed that it was indeed a termination notice. Dong Dongen hurriedly went to Lou Yuan's office to find him and asked for an explanation. Lou Yuan stated that he had seen their work and found it to be ordinary and lacking innovation, which was why their company did not want to collaborate with such an advertising agency.
Dong Dongen explained that the company had given them a very low advertising fee, which forced them to produce work of that quality. However, Lou Yuan dismissed it as an excuse, believing that it reflected issues within their own company. Dong Dongen felt extremely frustrated, realizing that once Lou Yuan obtained the evidence, he no longer cared about them and was simply using them.
In fact, Dong Dongen and Lou Yuan had a brief encounter before. Dong Dongen mistook Lou Yuan for someone else and pulled him out of a bar, claiming that they intended to harm him. However, Dong Dongen was intoxicated and ended up vomiting on Lou Yuan. Dong Dongen was worried that Lou Yuan might recognize them, but after observing his reaction, they concluded that Lou Yuan hadn't recognized them and felt relieved.
Dong Dongen thought that since Lou Yuan mentioned their company's lack of good case studies, they should compile all of the company's successful cases and present them to Lou Yuan. Dong Dongen went to wait for Lou Yuan downstairs at his company, only to find out that Lou Yuan didn't leave from there but rather through the underground parking garage. Dong Dongen hurriedly rushed over to catch up with him.
Unexpectedly, CEO Lai also intercepted them there. Lou Yuan explained that they had started the business together with Lou Yuan's mother, so even if they didn't contribute much, they still had their share of hardships. However, now Lou Yuan was directly kicking them out. Lou Yuan stated that it was CEO Lai's acceptance of kickbacks that harmed the company's interests. If he wanted to talk about their entrepreneurial bond, then why didn't he consider the impact on the company's interests when accepting kickbacks?
CEO Lai was furious and it almost came to blows between him and Lou Yuan. Dong Dong En saw an opportunity to show her loyalty and rushed over to stop CEO Lai. However, she accidentally pushed Lou Yuan to the ground, causing him to faint. Lou Yuan was taken to the hospital, and Dong Dong En quickly apologized to him. Lou Yuan explained that he fainted due to low blood sugar but told Dong Dong En to stay away from him and never let him see her again.
When Dong Dong En overheard earlier, she discovered that Lou Yuan liked Mao Mao, so she bought many fluffy toys and brought them to Lou Yuan. Dong Dong En used her persuasive skills and convinced Lou Yuan to give her a chance to work as a cleaner in the company. When Lou Yuan went to the restroom, he found there was no toilet paper. Dong Dong En happened to be there for cleaning and handed him the paper.
Unexpectedly, other people entered the restroom as well. Lou Yuan pulled Dong Dong En into a stall, thinking no one was there. They engaged in an intimate moment, but suddenly realized there were others present. Lou Yuan thought Dong Dong En was ruthless, as she had kicked out the company veterans. Lou Yuan called Cao Ya over and asked if he truly was ruthless. Cao Ya didn't know how to respond.
Dong Dong En was cleaning the cafeteria when Lou Yuan came to eat. He gave Dong Dong En a card for the cafeteria, indicating that she could freely drink any beverages available there.
