Episode 1 recap: Chen Ke Hai and Fang Li entered the special training class for the first time.

The Kuomintang received a mission to assassinate a member of the 76th Bureau. Chen Ke Hai (played by Gao Zhi Ting) rushed over to inform Fang Li (played by Wang Sen) and Shen Qiu Ping (played by Chen Yao) that there was a problem with the target. Fang Li aimed his gun at Chen Ke Hai and told him to leave, but despite knowing the risks, Chen Ke Hai was determined to carry out the mission. He fell into a trap and became trapped inside. Shen Qiu Ping and Fang Li risked everything to save him, and in order to cover their escape, Fang Li was shot. Unfortunately, both Chen Ke Hai and Shen Qiu Ping were also shot.

Everything stemmed from an incident six months ago when Shen Qiu Ping, who was a Kuomintang spy, and instructor Miao Chang Shou performed different roles for everyone. Shen Qiu Ping offered herself to the other party in order to obtain a ticket to Hong Kong. This situation led to discussions among the group. Yao Li commented that Shen Qiu Ping's performance was shy, but Miao Chang Shou was not satisfied because her dignity caused the performance to fail. He tore her clothes in front of everyone, and Fang Li couldn't bear it and went up to express a different opinion, but he was punished threefold.

Li Tang admired the bravery of Fang Li and Chen Ke Hai's actions just now. Shen Qiu Ping was slapped in the face by the female instructor because of her failed performance. Chen Ke Hai intentionally kicked Qiao San Min in front and accidentally hit the female instructor with a water basin in his hand. The emergency training was improved, and everyone was taken to the training ground. Chen Ke Hai realized that it was not the instructor who woke them up, but their senior. The senior stated that he liked smoking and drinking and asked them to go outside through a dog hole and bring something back within an hour. Chen Ke Hai saw through their intentions and directly climbed over the wall to escape. However, they were soon knocked unconscious by someone. When they woke up, they found themselves locked in an interrogation room. A Japanese interrogator asked them for the address of their special training class. Chen Ke Hai noticed the interrogator's flaw and used a strategy to free themselves from handcuffs. He also pointed out that the Japanese attire was outdated and used a stool to break the wall. It turned out that it was a test conducted by Instructor Miao. Other trainees were subjected to torture during the testing process, some chose to die rather than yield, and some pretended to be crazy. Only Chen Ke Hai and Fang Li successfully passed the test through their strategies.

Chen Ke Hai, in order to save lives, planned to use strategies from "Sun Tzu's Art of War" to steal intelligence and achieve greater victory in the resistance against Japan. Fang Li also claimed that he came to the special training camp to save lives in the fight against Japan, but Instructor Miao didn't believe him. During a recent test, Fang Li nearly killed a coach disguised as a Japanese person, and his skills didn't seem like those of a new recruit. Miao received intelligence that a Japanese spy had infiltrated the new recruits, making Fang Li the primary suspect in Miao's eyes. Chen Ke Hai figured out Miao's intentions and asked what the conditions were. The instructor took Fang Li alone to the outskirts, knowing that he was an orphan taken in by the Chen family. Chen Ke Hai realized that Miao wanted him to carry out tasks on his behalf using his identity as the young master of the Chen family. If Fang Li were truly a Japanese spy, he would have been arrested long ago, so Chen Ke Hai proposed a condition: if they released Fang Li, he would help Miao uncover the traitor. The instructor asked Fang Li about his purpose for being there, and Fang Li, frustrated, said it was just to make something of himself.

Fang Li trained relentlessly, determined to be stronger than anyone else. The instructor even fired blanks at him to push him further. Li Tang and Qiao San Min were joking around in the bathhouse, while one person deliberately knocked Chen Bin's glasses to the ground and prevented Chen Bin from picking them up. Chen Ke Hai and Fang Li couldn't bear to watch and ended up fighting with the person. When the instructor saw Chen Bin lying on the ground, he punished the entire team. It was during the punishment that Chen Ke Hai noticed that Chen Bin's glasses were plain lenses. Could he be the traitor? During class, Chen Ke Hai observed each classmate and noticed that Shen Qiuping kept glancing at her pocket watch. The students began target practice, and Fang Li, as expected, ranked first without any suspense. This time, they had a special task to interrogate three suspects, and as the top-ranked student, Fang Li chose Chen Bin and Chen Ke Hai as the interrogators. The three of them entered the interrogation room, removed their hoods, and were instructed to carry out the execution. Chen Ke Hai felt it was unfair to skip the interrogation and go straight to execution. Under the pressure from the instructor, Chen Bin was the first to kill a suspect, and Fang Li followed by firing multiple shots. Chen Ke Hai squatted on the ground, vomiting, indicating that he couldn't kill defenseless people. Despite being forced by the instructor, he didn't hit his target. With Chen Ke Hai's help, they managed to kill the suspect.
