Episode 14 recap: Chen Ke Hai became aware of Fang Li's identity as a member of the Military Statistics.

Chen Ke Hai and Fang Li were attacked at the ball, but with the help of Lao Jin's support, they managed to break through the encirclement. Xing Han Zhu expressed suspicion about the assassination attempt, feeling like they were being set up. Fang Li asked Director Li to clear his name, believing in justice and the truth.

A woman was captured by Number 76, and Xing Han Zhu took the initiative to interrogate her, but Director Li handed the matter over to Fang Li. To further identify Chen Ke Hai's identity, Luo Bing was arranged by Fang Li to stay at Chen Ke Hai's house. Fang Li and Lao Jin were surrounded by a group of people.

The Military Statistics began assassinating Yuan Tian Zhen Ming. At the entrance, Chen Ke Hai returned to the club, while Lao Jin used a sniper rifle to prevent the approaching Japanese reinforcements. Luo Bing also entered the club and used a brooch to deal with the people behind Chen Ke Hai. Seeing the agonizing struggles on the ground and the brooch, Chen Ke Hai realized Luo Bing's identity.

Fang Li ran out in a hurry after seeing his comrades killed, as Lao Jin continued to snipe the enemy from a high vantage point. Fang Li approached Yuan Tian Zhen Ming with a pen belonging to his fallen comrade and, pretending to show concern, stabbed him in the neck. At that moment, Chen Ke Hai arrived and saw Fang Li secretly hiding the pen. Xing Han Zhu and the others arrived to find Yuan Tian Zhen Ming already dead, with Chen Ke Hai and Fang Li standing nearby, guarding, and not appearing to be the culprits.

Afterwards, Chen Ke Hai escorted Luo Bing home and deliberately mentioned that she was lucky not to have returned to the club, otherwise something unfortunate might have happened to her. Chen Ke Hai returned home happily and saw the released pigeon returning once again, reminding him of the scene where Fang Li killed Yuan Tian Zhen Ming. He was glad to see his "old friend" again. Lao Jin received orders to eliminate Qian San, but he believed that it would be inconvenient for Luo Bing to take action with Tian Liu constantly by Chen Ke Hai's side. He wondered if it was necessary to create an accident. However, Fang Li disagreed.

Xing Han Zhu reported to Director Li, stating that they had all the necessary evidence and eyewitnesses, but Qian San managed to escape at a crucial moment, as if someone had intentionally allowed it to happen. Fang Li understood the implication of his words and questioned why Xing Han Zhu didn't identify Qian San immediately after capturing him. Fang Li suspected that Xing Han Zhu wanted to use the incident involving the Japanese to frame him. He questioned why Qian San was not protected during the chaotic situation. Did they even let a suspect like him protect Qian San? Fang Li argued with Xing Han Zhu, and Director Li's priority was to find the Military Statistical Bureau (军统). He believed that the modified pen was the murder weapon. Seeing Director Li's dilemma, both Fang Li and Xing Han Zhu suggested that the Japanese should capture the Military Statistical Bureau themselves, stating that the ball provided them with an excellent opportunity.

The female agent, who was unconscious but not dead during the assassination attempt, was captured by Agent 76 and brought to the dungeon. Director Li ordered Fang Li to personally interrogate her. Faced with a comrade, Fang Li had no choice but to resort to torture. Director Li privately informed Xing Han Zhu that he had already conducted one round of interrogation but didn't reveal any information. He used this opportunity to test Fang Li and advised Xing Han Zhu not to target Fang Li for the time being, as he still had some use. Chen Ke Hai used the pretext of coughing to report to Lao Duan again about Fang Li being affiliated with the Military Statistical Bureau. Lao Duan instructed him to keep his distance, as both sides were fighting against the Japanese but belonged to different factions. Fang Li had exhausted all the methods he could use and asked Chen Ke Hai to help interrogate the female agent.

Chen Ke Hai approached her, and the female agent quietly begged him to kill her. However, just as he was about to do it, Xing Han Zhu appeared and confronted him. Chen Ke Hai explained that he wasn't going to kill her but intended to continue the interrogation. At that moment, when the female agent was being untied, she seized the opportunity to grab a dagger and aimed it at Fang Li. Fang Li immediately shot and killed her.

Based on the events at the club the previous day, Luo Bing's relationship with Chen Ke Hai had deepened, and she moved into his house. Chen Ke Hai, who was drunk, collapsed at the doorstep of Luo Bing's house. When he woke up, he found himself at her place, and she had even prepared breakfast for him. Chen Ke Hai checked her clothes in the wardrobe again and noticed that the brooch was missing. Gao Mu was dissatisfied with the ball and expressed his discontent during the meeting, assigning tasks to various department heads. Chen Ke Hai informed Lao Duan that the Japanese were planning retaliatory killings in Shanghai and was instructed to seize the specific plan. Tian Liu met Chen Ke Hai on the road and insisted on going with him to Fang Li's house. While Tian Liu was visiting Fang Li's study, she discovered a key hidden inside a flowerpot through the dust. Major Miao began assigning tasks to everyone, and at that time, Fang Li was kidnapped by unidentified individuals. Lao Jin specifically called Chen Ke Hai for help, and since Director 76 was also kidnapped, they decided to handle it discreetly. Chen Ke Hai assigned tasks to Lao Jin, Chen Bin, and others and reported to Director Li.

Chen Ke Hai and Lao Jin returned to the place where Fang Li was held captive and searched for his traces based on the tire tracks. Fang Li was bound in a warehouse and, after being beaten, he deliberately claimed to know that the Japanese were planning a retaliatory counterattack against the Military Statistical Bureau. Their plan was to infiltrate Chongqing. At that moment, Fang Li managed to escape the ropes and subdue the captors. In fact, Fang Li had already realized that they were agents from the Military Statistical Bureau and used this opportunity to test them.
