Episode 27 recap: Fang Li seeks forgiveness from Chen Ke Hai.

Xing Han Zhu develops the photos from the camera, and there are a few pictures that require an explanation from Fang Li. So he throws the photos of the Japanese military plan at him. Fang Li denies the content of the photos, stating that he wouldn't make such a low-level mistake and tells Xing Han Zhu to use his brain. Taking advantage of the darkness, Liu Yuan Dong leaves, and when Chen Ke Hai asks about his whereabouts, he lies and says he went to visit relatives.

Chen Ke Hai angrily removes the phone bug. Fang Li kills Tian Liu, and Chen Ke Hai is devastated. He confronts Fang Li directly and they start fighting. Xing Han Zhu brings the two of them to the office, where the newly developed photos reveal Japanese intelligence.

Fang Li is asked to explain, and he tells Xing Han Zhu to think for himself and wonders how he could make such a basic mistake. Xing Han Zhu fails to realize the problem, but Chen Ke Hai looks closely at the photos and realizes they contain verses from a Japanese poetry collection. Xing Han Zhu is left speechless and angrily glares at his subordinate. Chen Ke Hai leaves in frustration but discovers that Tian Liu's body has been dumped in an unmarked grave.

Chen Ke Hai rushes to the unmarked grave in a state of despair but gets into a car accident. Fang Li arrives and rescues Chen Ke Hai. Luo Bing comes to the hospital to take care of Chen Ke Hai, and Fang Li has located Tian Liu's body, which is now being taken care of.

Chen Ke Hai recalls the time when he and Tian Liu planned their operation. She received a new camera and took some random photos. Then, that drunken person intentionally bumped into him at night and exchanged cameras. The real intelligence camera was taken away by the drunkard, and the camera Chen Ke Hai had in his possession contained casual snapshots of everyday life.

At that time, when he returned home, he deliberately acted with Luo Bing, and she intentionally mentioned that the rouge box was actually a camera and reminded him to put it in the study. Tian Liu's death has left Chen Ke Hai feeling guilty. He calculated every step but didn't anticipate Fang Li's ruthlessness and cruelty. Fang Li sees the burn ointment at home and recalls the scene when Tian Liu had applied it to him. He deeply regrets his actions and realizes that he wronged Tian Liu.

Xing Han Zhu complains to Li Shi Qun, stating that even though there was nothing wrong with Tian Liu's camera, Fang Li's act of killing to cover up the truth is enough to raise concerns. Li Shi Qun doesn't see any problem and notes that Fang Li's position among the Japanese is quickly rising, making it difficult for them to take action. Additionally, the replacement for Ying Zuo is about to take office.

When Chen Ke Hai is discharged from the hospital, he encounters Liu Yuan Dong, who claims to be visiting relatives. Chen Ke Hai advises him to leave early as it is unsafe to be on the road after dark.

Liu Yuan Dong apologizes to Xing Han Zhu and asks him for another chance. Chen Ke Hai, angry about Tian Liu's death, angrily removes the bug from the telephone and realizes that Liu Yuan Dong is working for Xing Han Zhu, not Fang Li. He warns Luo Bing to be careful when going out in the future.

Luo Bing is also saddened by Tian Liu's death and encourages Chen Ke Hai to stay strong on the path ahead. Chen Ke Hai doesn't want to see Fang Li and ignores him. Fang Li follows behind and apologizes, promising to avenge Tian Liu, but Chen Ke Hai reminds him that Tian Liu was killed by him.

Fang Li and Chen Ke Hai eat by the roadside and encounter a group of people demanding protection money. They notice that the daughter of the stall owner is being targeted, and when Chen Ke Hai can't stand it anymore, he intervenes to help. Fang Li eventually joins in after repeated requests from Chen Ke Hai.

After driving away the thugs, Chen Ke Hai gives the stall owner some money to leave quickly. Soon, the thugs call for reinforcements to seek revenge on the two of them. Fang Li and Chen Ke Hai escape. Fang Li tells Chen Ke Hai the reason for killing Tian Liu was entirely to save the two of them. Now their fates are intertwined, and they can't sever their relationship with just a resignation letter.

When Chen Ke Hai returns home, Luo Bing sees that Fang Li brought him back and questions whether they have reconciled. At this moment, the leader of the thugs arrives at Fang Li's home to apologize, saying that they were a bit too rough earlier. Fang Li doesn't blame him and explains that it was necessary to make the situation more realistic. He reconciled with Chen Ke Hai and specifically asked the thugs to report to Qiyé, allowing the boss to manage that street in the future.

The next day, Chen Ke Hai refuses Fang Li's breakfast and goes to work. The person replacing Ying Zuo arrives, and Li Shi Qun introduces Chai Shan Kenshiro. Everyone applauds for him, but he looks disdainfully at them without saying a word. Li Shi Qun is angry at Chai Shan's insult and expresses his dissatisfaction. He complains to Xing Han Zhu that it's time to plan for the future and doesn't mind interacting with more "outsiders," and advises Xing Han Zhu to take care of himself.

The Japanese want to negotiate peace with Chongqing, but Fang Li believes it's a good opportunity to weed out traitors. Miao, an official, asks Fang Li to use the Japanese to eliminate Li Shi Qun and strike before the Communist Party. Six months later, Chen Bin stumbles out of Balemen. Song Qing Shan, who was once part of the 74th Army and participated in several battles, approaches Chen Bin in his destitute state, asking for money. When Chen Bin hears about his experiences, he takes him to a restaurant. Song Qing Shan reveals that his company commander was a fool and was shot dead by Vice Commander Chen Ke Hai when he tried to escape. Chen Ke Hai was a sharpshooter and witnessed it firsthand.

Chen Bin keeps asking Song Qing Shan about Chen Ke Hai's situation, flipping back and forth.
