Episode 31 recap: Chen Bin accuses Chen Ke Hai of being a Communist.

Fang Li intentionally tells Chen Ke Hai that he is not afraid of enemies confronting him face-to-face, but rather afraid of his own people stabbing him in the back. Chen Bin declares that he will publicly expose Chen Ke Hai's identity in front of Fang Li and see how Fang Li protects him.

Luo Bing offers to mend a torn piece of clothing for Chen Ke Hai, but he instinctively stops her. Lao Jin becomes excited and talks a lot. When Luo Bing wakes up, she discovers that the child is missing. She receives a phone call instructing her to go to the train station if she wants the child back. She goes alone.

Chen Ke Hai is publicly exposed by Chen Bin, which forces Fang Li to continue reading. Chen Ke Hai hypothetically asks Fang Li how she would choose if one day he were to be targeted, but she admits that she cannot face such a situation. Chen Ke Hai visits Zhang the tailor and also picks up some digestive medicine for the child. Lao Duan deliberately distracts the shop assistant. Now, Chen Ke Hai is being followed, but luckily Lao Bai hasn't betrayed him. Lao Duan informs Chen Ke Hai that Lao Bai, who joined the Communist Party at the age of seventeen and even severed ties with his family, will not betray them.

Now that their presence has attracted attention at the pharmacy, Chen Ke Hai decides to leave and decides to leave with Lao Duan. Chen Ke Hai expresses that he went to No. 76 with great effort and cannot give up this opportunity. Fang Li and Chen Ke Hai leave, and Chen Bin takes the opportunity to enter Fang Li's office. He uses the excuse of not receiving a document to dismiss her assistant and finds the confidential file in Fang Li's drawer. After the assistant retrieves the file and apologizes to him, saying that it was sent to another department, Chen Bin declares that he won't report it and acts as if he never came.

Chen Bin enthusiastically greets Chen Ke Hai, arousing his suspicion. He goes to Li Tang's office to inquire about the previous incident of reporting them as Communists. He learns that it has been taken care of, and the newspaper also has their own people.

Xing Han Zhu looks at the letter exposing Chen Ke Hai as a Communist. Chen Bin states that this is the evidence, and he intends to publicly expose Chen Ke Hai as a Communist. He wants to see how Fang Li protects Chen Ke Hai. Xing Han Zhu feels that they must have certainty at this point. Although they can delay, if there's any falsehood, he will be in grave danger. Chen Bin is determined to settle personal grievances.

Lao Jin discovers that Chen Bin is secretly associating with Xing Han Zhu. He follows them, and Chen Ke Hai also notices Lao Jin monitoring Chen Bin. Chen Ke Hai is worried about the report and sews a bomb into his clothes at home. Because he doesn't know if Chen Bin has discovered that he fabricated the report, he prepares for the worst and is willing to die with them.

Chen Ke Hai goes out holding the child, and they appear happy together. He also pulls Luo Bing closer to him. Luo Bing awkwardly states that it's just a class reunion and questions if it's necessary to be so reluctant. Everyone attending the class reunion is searched, and when it's time to search Chen Ke Hai's subordinate, Fang Li directly pulls him inside.

The person who was tracking Chen Ke Hai leaves with a letter, but Lao Jin manages to knock him out and takes the letter away.

Luo Bing discovers a letter from Chen Ke Hai at home, expressing his desire to eat vegetable dumplings. As she goes out to buy groceries for him, a man arrives at Chen's house. Lao Jin, who noticed several people surveilling the area from outside the restaurant, enters and expresses his happiness for being alive after having died four years ago. He thanks Fang Li for saving him from a pile of dead bodies.

Everyone finds it unbelievable that the usually silent Lao Jin is suddenly so talkative. The subordinate reports to Xing Han Zhu, waiting for Chen Bin to make the first move. Xing Han Zhu knows that Chen Bin has personal grudges but still chooses to cooperate with him. Fang Li, emulating the late Captain Jin, promises to help anyone in need just like he did.

Upon returning home, Luo Bing finds Wu Ma lying on the ground, while the child is nowhere to be found. She receives a ransom call instructing her to go alone to the telephone booth at the train station if she wants the child back. Fang Li, in a drunken state, asks Chen Bin why he is the only one not toasting, questioning if he has a problem with her. Chen Bin says that Fang Li is sometimes stubborn, and Fang Li acknowledges that only he and Chen Ke Hai dare to talk to her like that.

Xing Han Zhu grows impatient and suspects that Chen Bin is playing tricks on him. Chen Bin says that he and Chen Ke Hai have different beliefs, implying that Chen Ke Hai believes in communism. Lao Jin asks him to present evidence, while Li Tang tries to mediate. However, Chen Bin disregards their pleas, presenting the report he filed a few days ago accusing Chen Ke Hai of being a communist, and he instructs Fang Li to hurry to Ningxing Street.

Luo Bing rushes to the telephone booth and receives a train ticket to Beiping, claiming that the child is on the train. The doors of the banquet hall are tightly closed, and Xing Han Zhu becomes impatient. It appears that Chen Bin has already taken action. Fang Li takes the report and realizes it is the telegram she received a few days ago about a communist infiltrating No. 76.

Chen Bin goes to the restroom to retrieve the hidden pistol but finds it missing. Lao Jin had already taken it. Luo Bing doesn't find her child on the train. Fang Li, Chen Bin, and the others head out, and Xing Han Zhu realizes he has been tricked. Luo Bing finds her child in the compartment and discovers a letter left by Chen Ke Hai, outlining their future life and advising her to raise their child well and not seek revenge for him. Lao Duan enters the adjacent compartment after seeing that they are safe.

Chen Bin, Fang Li, and the others arrive in a forest, with Chen Bin still insisting that Chen Ke Hai is a communist. Chen Bin claims to have control over the communists in Ningxing Street, but Chen Ke Hai questions whether Chen Bin's goal is to capture him or the intelligence base of the military statistics bureau. He suggests that Chen Bin is using the so-called communists and military statistics bureau to lure Xing Han Zhu out, so that after their deaths, Chen Bin will be the only one credited with achievements.
