Episode 33 recap: Luo Bing was killed by Fang Li.
Fang Li vowed to make Xing Han Zhu pay double, and Luo Bing's greatest wish was for her safety. Luo Bing received a mission to assassinate Xing Han Zhu. Holding a sniper rifle, she kept a distant watch on him. Luo Bing engaged in a fierce battle with Xing Han Zhu's men.Xing Han Zhu was tied up in the interrogation room and cursed Liu Yuan Dong as useless. Fang Li handed him a knife, and the emotionally unstable Liu Yuan Dong glared at Xing Han Zhu. Li Liqun knew he was poisoned by the Japanese and instigated by Fang Li. He asked Xing Han Zhu for a gun to protect himself and warned him to be careful of Fang Li.
Fang Li ordered his men to arrest Liu Yuan Dong, who became terrified upon seeing him, as if he had seen a demon. After receiving a phone call, Fang Li happily informed Lao Jin that Li Liqun was dead. He then asked Lao Jin if it was necessary for Luo Bing to go to Ningxing Street to buy pastries, to which Lao Jin immediately understood his intentions.
Fang Li went to Chen Ke Hai and learned that Xiao Bao had been sent to a wet nurse's home. The excuse was that they didn't want the child to see Chen Ke Hai in his current state. Chen Ke Hai was unwilling to cooperate with Fang Li. Upon hearing the news of Li Liqun's death, he immediately sat up and realized it was Fang Li's doing.
Fang Li's next move would be to deal with Xing Han Zhu, and now Xing Han Zhu was the only opponent left for Fang Li. Chen Ke Hai realized that his position had become even more dangerous. Luo Bing visited Mu'en Middle School to see her mother, holding the child in her arms. Her mother was particularly fond of the child. Luo Bing wanted to take her mother and leave Shanghai, but her mother hoped that her daughter could leave safely while she stayed in Shanghai.
Lao Jin waited for Luo Bing halfway, took the child from her, and Luo Bing got in the car. That night, Luo Bing returned home with low spirits, thinking about Fang Li's statement that her surveillance mission on Chen Ke Hai had ended, and she would be transferred back to Chongqing. However, Luo Bing wanted to take care of the child, which was countered by Fang Li, who assigned her one final task.
Chen Ke Hai went to the kitchen, mistakenly thinking that Luo Bing was reluctant to leave her mother. He comforted her and promised to find someone to take care of his mother. The next day, Luo Bing left the house with the child in her arms. Her mission for the day was to assassinate Xing Han Zhu. Once the mission was completed, she would be able to leave.
Under Fang Li's arrangement, Xing Han Zhu left his house. Luo Bing aimed at him with the sniper rifle from a distance but accidentally only hit his shoulder. Luo Bing was exposed and fiercely pursued by Xing Han Zhu's men. Meanwhile, the baby cried at home, and Chen Ke Hai specifically went out to meet him, discovering a wooden stick in the baby's hand, which belonged to Lao Jin.
Fang Li's car blocked Xing Han Zhu's path, and Luo Bing ran to the pier. A woman gave her new identification documents, but as she was examining the documents, she was struck in the neck by a modified pen from the woman. She instantly lost consciousness and was then tied up and thrown into the river.
Lao Jin rushed to Mu'en Middle School and took away Luo Bing's mother. She knew she was about to die and begged for heaven's blessings for Luo Bing and her family. Then, she was shot dead by Lao Jin.
Luo Bing woke up underwater but couldn't free herself from the ropes. She began to suffocate, but Chen Ke Hai jumped into the water and saved her in time. Thinking of her mother, Luo Bing immediately headed to Mu'en Middle School. Xing Han Zhu was tied up by Fang Li in an abandoned house. He didn't consider Fang Li a threat at all. To him, Fang Li was just a Japanese dog. Xing Han Zhu wished to be shot dead by Fang Li without any additional tricks.
At that moment, Liu Yuan Dong was brought out, and Fang Li ordered him to get rid of Xing Han Zhu. It was merely an insult to Liu Yuan Dong. Both Xing Han Zhu and Fang Li provoked Liu Yuan Dong, and in his uncontrollable emotions, he killed Xing Han Zhu.
When Luo Bing arrived at Mu'en Middle School, she saw the police carrying away her mother's body and hid in a corner, crying. The plan at the dock proceeded as planned, and even if the body was discovered, it would appear as an accident. After the Chinese New Year, she would be transferred back to Shanghai. Fang Li didn't show the expected joy after eliminating Xing Han Zhu; he worried that the next opponent would be Chen Ke Hai.
Chen Ke Hai comforted Fang Li and told her to hide while he figured out a way to arrange her and Xiao Bao's departure. Luo Bing had completely lost faith in the Military Statistics Bureau due to the recent deaths. Liu Yuan Dong sought out Fang Li and expressed his desire to enter Room 76. He didn't want to be stepped on by others and believed that if he dared to kill Xing Han Zhu, he could do the same to anyone else.
Seeing his ruthlessness, Fang Li agreed to support him. Chen Ke Hai came to pay tribute to Tian Liu, and Fang Li was also watching her. Chen Ke Hai mentioned that during Xing Han Zhu's treatment, he heard that she was missing after an assassination attempt. He asked where Luo Bing had gone. Initially pretending not to know, Fang Li's Military Statistics Bureau identity was revealed to Chen Ke Hai, so she lied and said she had been sent to Chongqing. Chen Ke Hai stated that since Luo Bing had been sent away, there was no need to repeat the same strategy in the future.
